Other Mamas of Slender Babies - Need Support!

My DD was born in March at 6# 4oz & has (mostly) gained well, but is still small. She's doing fine now, but, again, she's just slender - 50th % in length, just barely making the 5th% weight.

I was just watching babywearing videos & it hurt to see beautiful, plump, chubby babies with nice rolls. :( DD has some rolls, but just a little bit (she doesn't LOOK skinny, but she does look slender.) DH & I aren't small people, so it's not like you'd expect a slender baby from us. & My DS wasn't slender like this.

I guess I could use some support from other mama's who've gone through this & a reminder that I really AM doing the best thing for her by eBF. (well, now that I've done a MILLION things to make sure she keeps gaining .5-1 oz per day on average. Last 4 weeks was .82 oz per day averaged out.)

TIA

You are, rest assured.  I have 3 littles, and my last just turned 18 months.  He was born at 8#10oz, but he's now only 21# at 18 months old.  He falls below the 5th percentile for his weight.  In fact, our family doctor, who has only seen him once before because he's been so healthy, actually re-weighed him because he was so stunned by his weight.  He won't eat much else besides nursing.  Thankfully, we have a very breastfeeding friendly doc, and we both agree that nothing I could substitute in place of my milk would be as good.  Little man is just little; he's healthy but little.  And that's okay; averages are just that - averages.  There are highs and lows for any scale.

You're doing great, mama!
