YUCK, Lice!!! -- Anyone tried Lice Freee?

I just discovered my whole family has been infested with lice!  ICK!!  After finding a live bug on my head, I panicked and rushed out to the drugstore to buy something to take care of the problem.  I didn't want to chemicals that may not work anyway, so I ended up buying a product called Lice Freee! spray which is nontoxic and is supposed to kill lice and eggs.  The active ingredient is sodium chloride (basically table salt) and it theoretically dries out the lice and dehydrates the eggs so they can't hatch.

I sprayed the whole family, let their hair dry, then started combing -- and basically haven't stopped since, LOL.  I'm afraid to even say this, but the spray seems to have worked so far.  Three days later and I haven't yet found a live bug, and the nits seem to be coming out pretty easily.  (I use tons of conditioner to make the comb go through more easily).  Just to be sure, and because it's really hard to comb your own hair, I sprung for a professional nitpicker (Texas Lice Squad in Houston, highly recommend, BTW!) and she declared DH and DS lice and nit-free and said that DD and I just had a few nits left, most of which were dead.  She did say, though, that no product can kill the eggs and they could've been damaged by my continual combing.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried this product before and I'm hoping that it is as safe and nontoxic as it claims to be.  In the midst of my panic, I didn't stop to think too much about it.  I will say it smells nice (like black licorice) and doesn't seem harsh in any way.  The bottle says it's safe to use as often as you want, even every day, which I've been doing just in case any of those overlooked nits do hatch.  And in the meantime, just to be extra-safe, we'll continue to comb, comb, comb.

Lice are so disgusting!!!

I have not used that product.I do have something from Eurpoe that is herbal.I know it has anise in it. Pain at is is I think the web page that does the oil/lotion thing is the best option.

Thanks for the link!  I'm happy to report that the LiceFreee worked great.  I'll post a review of it here when I get around to it.  I liked it so much that I bought four bottles to take back to Europe (where we live) because I don't think it's available here.   So, a big thumbs up for LiceFreee!
