HELP. My little boy is having a load of dental work done under anesthesia

It's happening in a few weeks. It will take about 3 hrs start to finish.

Just spoke with the anesthesiologist who says he will use:

Ketamine/Versed injection to start.

Then intravenously he'll use a combination of Propofol, Tordal, possibly Demerol, some other drug to keep my son's mouth dry during the procedure and then last but not least, something to reduce his nausea/vomiting afterward.

I'm incredibly terrified.

He's never had any kind of these drugs before. We don't even vaccinate. His oldest brother (my stepson) had severe vaccination-related reactions after a pertussis shot. He was hospitalized after multiple seizures and uncontrollable screaming.

Any and all input is appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Mel.

Sorry you're so stressed. My 4.5 yo son is also having dental surgery under GA soon for removal of supernumerary (extra) adult teeth. He also will have two fillings and two crowns done at that time. I also worry about the anasthetic, but I have to choose to have faith in the clinic, in particular the pediatric anaesthesiologist. Yes, there is a chance of a negative reaction, but it is very rare. During our information meeting I asked about the protocols for such an event - what equipment was kept in the dental clinic, what the staff were able to do and what the transfer procedure was to the hospital (which hospital, how long would it take, etc.) I know when the day comes I will be a wreck, but I know that the work needs to be done so I'm doing my best to be positive.
