Awww...I'm so sorry AF showed for you!  Some women take a break from temping during their period, but I continue to temp every morning.  It's not something I really feel I need a "break" from, personally.  I hope this next cycle is more normalized for you!  hug2.gif

Sorry that you're bleeding.  FF thinks that you O'd now b/c of the bleeding, but it's still possible you did not and this is breakthrough bleeding.  Either way, though, a 7 day LP is not long enough to sustain a pregnancy.  So for next cycle, I would try supplementing with vitamin B6 and see if that helps lengthen your LP.  Like Kitten, I keep temping everyday, but some people do stop while bleeding.  I feel it is beneficial to continue temping the entire time b/c if you end up with early O, you'll only have a few temps after AF and before O, which can make your pattern more difficult to see.

Speaking of temping... what is your normal routine?  I'm wondering if there are any suggestions I could give you to try and get your temps more consistent.  One, would be to try vaginal temping instead.  A lot of women find their temps fluctuate less this way.  Just a thought.

Good luck with next cycle!

Ok... can i take b6 along with prenatals and folic acid? How much do I take? The as directed instructions?

I do oral temping....ill try vaginal this time....do I use the same thermometer? Still same time first thing in the am?

Thank you for all the advice im clueless to all this.

I take a prenatal, 100mg of B6 and 1000mg of folic acid.  I take more folic acid than I probably need to, but since it is a water-soluble vitamin, my body will flush out the excess.  I also take B12 and zinc, and during my follicular phase I took evening primrose oil, fish oil, and vitamin E as well.

As for temping vaginally, I haven't tried that yet, but here's what FF says about it:

I have heard that temping vaginally is more accurate than temping orally. Should I try it?

Most people are able to see their ovulation pattern clearly enough while temping orally. When temperatures are very rocky and ovulation cannot be detected, it is usually due to poor temperature-taking habits (especially not taking the temperature at the same time). If you are certain that you are taking your temperature accurately and you are still getting a great deal of fluctuation, you may find it helpful to take your temperature vaginally. If you plan to take your temperature vaginally, wait for a new cycle to start. Do not change from oral to vaginal readings within the same cycle as this will disrupt your interpretation since vaginal temps are typically higher than oral temperatures. To take your temperature vaginally, just insert the tip of the thermometer into your vagina in the morning and record your temperature as usual.

I took 50mg of B6 to lengthen my LP.  It is one you have to monitor a bit to make sure you're not getting any side effects.  So I would start with 50 and increase from there as necessary.

No need to get a different thermometer for vaginal temping and keep your routine the same.

Thanks Ill start vaginal temping tomorrow.
What are the side effects of b6 to watch for?

It can affect your nerves.  Watch out mostly for tingling.  Here's some info from WebMD:

Quote:
In some people, pyridoxine might cause nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, headache, tingling, sleepiness, and other side effects.

Long-term use of high doses is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. It might cause certain brain and nerve problems.
