Length of natural birth vs induction

Thread Starter

I'm currently pregnant with my 3rd baby, first two were inductions (one unnessecary - stupid me - and one medically indicated).

First - 7 1/2 hrs

Second - 2 hrs 15 mins

My doula seems to think I may go even faster this time since I truly plan on going into labor naturally. I'm usure of what to expect though, since I've heard that the 3rd can be unpredictable, plus my body won't be pumped full of pit.

Anyone with experience like this???

Well, I wouldn't expect anything particular one way or the other, honestly. Third labors are definitely a wild card, and there are so many factors, you just never know.

FWIW, I wasn't induced with #1 but was pit-augmented after my waters broke and no cx's materialized for 18+ hours. From first contraction (3cm) to baby was 3.5 hours dizzy.gif. #2 was a homebirth (so all natural): waters broke again to start labor, and dd was born 7 hours later, though only about an hour of that was serious labor. MUCH easier!

Be prepared for everything or anything! My one induced/augmented labor was 23 hours, my natural labors were 3 and 4 hours. It sure as heck through me for a curveball when my labor was cut by 20 hours!
