Thrush help PLEASE!

My big question - how do I know it's gone?

We tried a laundry list of remedies before gentian violet finally stopped the pain.. Now the pain is gone, but my nipples are as red as ever. Not shiny/flaky like before, just very red. Is this just irritation from the treatment?

I know I still need to treat for 2 more weeks regardless (all the lifestyle/diet stuff plus miconazole), but I don't know if I should do another round of GV or not.

Going to a LLL meeting next week, but if any of y'all have any wisdom I'd love to hear it! Thank you!

Honestly not sure...  I *think* my thrush has been gone for several weeks - DD's oral thrush cleared, no more yeast diaper rash or stools, my breasts aren't flaky or shiny and no more pain IN the breasts. But my nipples still seem bright red, and sometimes a little dry/sore. Are you using a moisturizer like lanolin? Maybe they're just irritated from the GV...

What I learned: it is gone when the pink/redness goes away and it would return if I stopped my treatments or didn't stick with my diet. You said that you tried various things, just in case you haven't tried it, grapefruit seed extract. GV helped but for me, GSE eradicated it for me. I followed these guidelines from Dr Gordon's website. I hope this helps and I feel for ya momma!

Thank you - I've been using GSE orally and topically.  I'm pretty convinced now that I'm dealing with a staph/bacterial infection.  The antibiotic in APNO is supposed to be effective against staph, including MRSA, so I'm going in to get a prescription for that on Monday.  Hopefully that wipes it out.

That was my same series of events - shiny/red/flaky/burning, then lots of treatment, then just bright red and pain, but not pain I would describe as burning.  I think I probably had dual yeast/bacterial infections and treated the yeast, but not the bacteria.  That's my guess, anyway.
