Achiness and Joint Pain at 6 WEEKS?!

Is this normal? I feel like I am 90. I can't walk without pain, I can get up from sitting without pain...and I'm not comfortable sleeping. DH and I played tennis yesterday, which just exasperated things (I thought the exercise would help). It's my knees, my back and hips, my shoulders and neck. I will say this...I suffer from arthritis in the winter months so maybe I am at a disadvantage with this particular side effect, but I thought I'd expect this much later in pregnancy, no?

Any home remedies for this? I'd typically take a hot bath, but I can't do that while pregnant, right?

THANKS!

Tylenol may help some...but it isn't much. Do you have autoimmune issues aside from the arthritis? It could be that you're having a flare-up due to the huge rise in hormone levels. For me it seems to level out in the 2nd trimester, and then get uncomfortable in the last trimester. I would ask your doctor to check you out just in case. There are medications considered safe to help, but you'd probably need to consult with a rheumatologist and perinatologist to get the okay. Aside from that, I would try eating foods high in antioxidants, vitamin c, etc. Cod liver helps some with my creaky joints, and it helps with inflammation. Stay away from things that might cause swelling like processed salt (go with something like Real Salt instead) and junk food. I hope you're feeling better soon!
