When will May be up? **Edited** Link to new May 2012 Group inside - Page 6

Thread Starter

Wow, lots of new posts since yesterday!  Hi to all the new ladies.  The moderator updated on the Q & A forum about the social groups and said some should be up by Monday.  Hopefully ours will be one of them.  :-)

janellody, I've had cramps off and on too.  Not as much as that first week but they do come and go.  I've also read that they are normal but still unnerving.

tibris, How are things today?  I hope little bean is staying put.

I went to Motherhood maternity today because they are having a crazy sale.  I'm on baby #4 so I wouldn't be surprised if I start using some maternity sooner than later.  Right now I'm feeling poochy and bloated.  I can't wear my tight jeans but have a few things that fit and bought a couple things on clearance a size up to buy me a few more weeks.  ugghhh

hi everyone :)

i just got my BFP this morning and its still sinking in! this will be my first baby though i was pregnant for a short while two years ago.

i was convinced that i was not pregnant because i didnt have any symptoms and i just didnt FEEL like i was. then my boobs got big and sore which is my AF indicator so i was even more sure. then they got REALLY sore and no AF for a few days. last night, i was having hot flashes and had trouble sleeping. this morning (CD 37) we decided to test and sure enough, pregnant!

an online calculator is telling me my due date is may 1st. may day baby!?!? awesome.

even though i feel like my man and i are so ready for this, im like "what now?". i guess i need to make an appointment to see a midwife right? i already told my best friend and am having a hard time waiting to tell my mom until DP can be there too.

congrats to everyone else!

Welcome wanderinblues!!

I can't wait for our actual group to be up :)  I need a new "home" since I don't really feel like I should be posting in the TTC forum anymore =/

Ok so, my head is killing me!  My hubby keeps telling me that I should take tylenol if they say it's ok for pregnant women, but I am too scared to take anything!!!  What are your thoughts??

Tylenol is considered safe. Unfortunately for me advil is not. I take it regularly for neck pain, and tylenol doesn't do it for me because I need an anti-inflamatory. Bleh.

We're at my in-laws beach houuse for the weekend, and I've already eaten more than my share of cheddar cheese. Not being able to tell anyone is killing me, but we decided to wait until I hit 5 weeks to tell our parents/his sister. We haven't decided when to tell the extended family, probably Thanksgiving. They'll flip - they loooooove babies.

Me too.  I feel bad posting on The One thread.  :(  I know I shouldn't, but I do.  Especially since so many left after that last burst of BFPs.  :(

BubbeMa, I know - I feel bad posting on the OneThread too....such a sweet group of ladies. I hate that so many of them took off after the 4 of us got our BFPs. :-(

Janellody ~ I've had a little cramping too & even though its normal, I still worry and try to sit down and relax when I start cramping up. As for tylenol, I took it all throughout the first trimester with DS2 because of headaches. My midwife said it was a better choice than advil (which is bad!) but she recommended trying cold washcloths pressed on my head first.

KM ~ Maybe they'll start to suspect something if you keep eating all that cheese! jk - I know it has to be so hard not telling them!!

tibris ~ Whats the update?? Thinking about you!

I got my beta results yesterday (yes I went in for a blood test because i could hardly believe the BFP and I'm a little paranoid since I've miscarried before). Anyway, my beta was 69 at 13 dpo. They asked me to come back on Tuesday for another blood draw. Anyone else get a beta done? Does 69 sound ok? According to betabase, I think its average...

I'm really looking forward to our DDC being up and running! Hopefully monday!! :-)

Meredith - I felt like we chased everyone away greensad.gif it's hard not to feel guilt about my bfp when so many other ladies have been trying longer. I know no one meant It that way, but it was hard not to take the mass exodus from the thread pesonally. But TTC is an emotional time for everyone.

Those betas sound good. If you assume you needed at least 25 to get a bfp, and you got one 11 dpo, then I'd expect it to be 50ish 13 dpo. And I'll call 69 "50ish"

Bubble - Yeah, I totally felt responsible because they all left after my last post about being pregnant LOL!!  It's weird, we all want the same thing but I am sure they just feel AWFUL that we got it and they didn't.. I don't blame them at all but I kinda felt I should just leave even though I still wanted to talk to them :(

KM - I am feeling extra snacky today, too.. but I dunno if it's just because I am sitting around not doing much or if it's cuz of the pregnancy?  Can you get snacky this early?  I always feel like I shouldn't have symptoms like that this early!! Am I crazy?

Meredith - No idea about beta testing, no idea what that even means!!  But I am thinking 69 sounds good, because, well, it's a good number in general LOL.  I called my doctor to set up my first appointment and they told me they don't confirm with a blood test, if I took a HPT that is good enough and that is the same thing they would do there.. I thought that was interesting, but whatever.  So no tests for me!  At least not the doctor kind.

I did take another HPT today.. mostly because I had 3 left!  I don't wanna waste them right?  I think I will take another in a few days and another a few days after that.. you know, just to make sure I am still pregnant!!  This one was the darkest line ever and it actually showed up BEFORE the control line!!!  Like, immediately when the fluid started coming into the window, you could see the second line showing up haha!!  I am DEFINITELY pregnant!!  WOOHOO :)

Is anyone on pregnancy #2 or more and having very different symptoms this time around?

My first two were pretty much the same- lots of nausea in the beginning, very tired etc. But this time, I'm not having any nausea at all, but a lot of crampiness (no bleeding), I have a fair amount of energy, and I'm getting this round ligament pain already. It just doesn't feel like "pregnancy" to me... Do you think this is normal?  confused.gif

Any of you want to create a group of facebook?  I'm over there a lot more than here.  We could obviously do both, but I thought it'd be fun!  Friend me facebook.com/linzmccoy and I will add you to the group.

I just sent a request too... how do you want to do the group? private? secret?

Swell ~ I think every pregnancy is different. When I was pregnant with my toddler, I had terrible headaches and instead of morning sickness I got sick every evening. This time I have cramps, but no other symptoms. I don't even have sore boobs! I don't really feel pregnant yet, so I know what you mean...and yes, I suspect it is normal :-)

KM84 ~ Yea, I felt the same way :-( Maybe once we've all moved off to the DDC, others will go back to OneThread...

Janellody ~ Beta refers to the amount of hcg in your blood. Like, those FRERs supposedly measure 25miu of hcg in your urine (although I think they actually measure way less!) So the amount of hcg you have in your system doubles every 24-28 hours (which is why those lines keep getting darker and darker!) My beta results just mean I have 69miu of hcg in my blood..when they take it again on Tuesday, it should be a lot higher because of the doubling rate.

lindsayjean ~ excellent idea. i'm in. Although honestly I'm on MDC waaay more than facebook these days!

wanderinblues ~ welcome & congrats mama!

I made it secret, I know a lot of us maybe don't want the world to know yet (although I suppose I'm not hiding it TOO Much by posting my facebook in a public discussion board lol... if they are THAT snoopy they can know I guess!)

Hi there. I am back after taking a break for a while. It looks like I'm due 5/4-ish so I'm looking to have some ladies to talk to. I had a loss in July and was not expecting to be expecting again so soon.

My home tests are still getting darker and beta HCG was 60  (14dpo Fri 8/26)  --> 216 (17dpo on Mon 8/29) so very encouraging! I am trying to let go and be excited but am kind of waiting until an ultrasound (2 weeks from today) to see how things are going along. For now all looks to be ok. Fingers crossed.

Welcome and congrats!!  :)

I'm feeling a little crampy off and on too.  It's the same kind I get before AF shows up, so it's a little unnerving.  I'm trying not to worry about it though.  Like someone else said, there's a lot going on in there!

Thanks for the welcome! I am also on facebook MUCH more than here. Easier to remember I guess. This 2ww to ultrasound seems more difficult. I really don't feel many symptoms other than a little nausea and fatigue here and there, as well as cravings for miso soup. The losses I had in March and July I had much stronger symptoms so I am taking it as a good sign I guess. I am 5weeks today officially the farthest I have made it recently so I am trying to let go little by little. It's so hard, though. Thanks for the happy thoughts.

Anyone have any good book suggestions? I'm craving some new books and just plowed through the Ina May's guide to childbirth and am going back to thumb through the birth stories.

I'm feeling frustrated and lonely. It's a scary time, knowing how high the chance of miscarriage is. My husband really doesn't want to tell our parents until after af is due, but I really want someone to talk to who has been there before. Its like he won't believe the hpt until after af. When I say I feel alone, he says "but I'm here," I don't know how to tell him he's not the only person I need to talk to.

I just really want to call my mom to talk about it, and I feel like he won't let me because he's afraid it will be a chemical pregnancy.

@ AmyW - I suggest another of Ina May's books- Spiritual Midwifery.
