What could this be?

I have a question about my cycle that maybe one of you might have an idea as to what it could be that's going on?

I am currently in my 3rd cycle pp with ovulation. My cycles are irregular lengths and my luteal phase is short. My longest being 8 days which was my last cycle. I used progesterone cream to start lengthening the luteal phase and it went from 5 to 8 days.
Anyway this cycle I got my first positive opk on day 18 and my monitor had me at peak/ovulation also on the same day. Yesterday which was day 23 of my cycle I had some brown blood which then promptly was gone and then a few hours later I had pink on my tissue and I thought my cycle was starting really really early. Well, then I checked again late last night and it was gone. And now I have no blood at all and it's back to normal cervical fluid.
I am using progesterone cream to lengthen my luteal phase but I know from using it my last cycle and also before my last baby that if your cycle is going to come the progesterone will not stop it. When I saw the pink on my tissue I figured I was starting my cycle but then when I looked again at 11pm-12midnight and it was completely gone I went ahead and put on my night dosage.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what the little bit of brown and pink blood could have been?

Well, the first thing one might think is implantation spotting, but since that is quite rare and if you did indeed pinpoint O on CD 19-20 (as OPK's will be positive 24-36 before O), then CD 23 would only be 3-4 DPO and too early for implantation.  Much more likely is just some hormonal fluctuations that could be associated with ovulation or since you are dealing with low progesterone, more likely associated with a dip in progesterone/surge in estrogen that could occur at any point in your LP.  I would absolutely mark it on your chart to reference later if necessary, but it would be my guess that this spotting does not indicate an increased or decreased change of pregnancy since it has now stopped.  Now you are about 7-8 DPO... any signs of AF?  FX for a longer LP!  Good luck!

I took progesterone pills at one point, just for chronic fatigue syndrome, and it caused my period to appear REALLY early for a few months in a row, so then I stopped the progesterone. I don't chart, etc, so I can't give much insight as to that. My guess, based solely on my experience, is that the progesterone is causing this, even if the bleeding did stop. With my early periods from the p, I think it started slow, and I was worried it was implantation bleeding, then I got my period. So mine wasn't quite like yours, but I still would assume it's the p, based on my limited knowledge.

If the ovulation detector was totally wrong, could be implantation, but I'm doubting those things are wrong???? Blessings and good luck whatever happens...

Just wanted to add that I had a 16 day cycle from taking those pills!!!! They were derived from yams too, so not lab-made hormones. However, I was taking them during my entire cycle, so that could be why. So if you weren't taking the p during the first half of your cycle, you may be in a totally different boat then me....or maybe not? In terms of what the end result could be, which is early bleeding/menstruation. Not sure if I can compare myself to you in that situation or not.

They are wrong quite often for a lot of women.  It's really something that has to be experimented with and confirmed with temping b/c even if they are properly picking up the LH surge that does not confirm that O actually happened, only that the body was gearing up to O.
