How do you continue nurturing your breastfeeding relationship now that your LO is older?

Just as the title states, in what ways do mamas keep the BF relationship going strong past 12 months?  I'm looking for ideas or some BTDT...

I find my LO very BUSY and often "forgets" to nurse throughout the day.  Even when I do offer it sometimes turns into three sucks and back off to play!! DD loves to eat and is very adventurous with foods... but doesn't actually eat a lot. She def still gets 90% calories from BM.  She's a pretty big girl (aprox 25 lbs @ 12 mths)

I am hoping to practice CLW or at least BF until 2 or so... What do you do to maintain your BF relationship?  Should I still offer the breast before solids like I did when we were starting solids?  I find myself worrying that she will wean, or that I should offer the breast more...

Sorry if this was a ramble!

So here is the thing: just go with the flow. All kids are different! Right now your DD is active as heck and exploring! I am sure soon she will be back to being a nursing monster LOL.

My DD is just about 2 and going through a nurse every 30 mins phase! You want to trade? J/K

Seriously though just offer and don't worry about it. I don't generally offer at all b/c my DD nurses SO MUCH but at 12 m/o I see no issue in offering a boob before solids or having a drink(boob) during/after solids.

I wouldn't offer anything else to drink besides water here and there (we don't do juice period). Now that my DD is almost 2 and we are TTC I do offer an alternative milk (coconut b/c she is allergic to dairy, although goat's is way better and we haven't tried it yet for fear of a reaction)

Just relax about it. There is nothing to nurture b/c the relationship will be there! It is extremely rare for a child to self wean before 2 y/o. Biologically between 2-7 y/o is the natural age of weaning. So don't sweat it!

Congrats for keeping with it!
