napping for a 5 month old

Thread Starter

I used to have a good sleeper until about a month ago.

He has gone through a bunch of transitions, sitting up by himself, crawling, (wanting to eat), new teeth etc

His first nap used to be 3-4 hours long now, this morning he didn't even sleep for an hour!

Night time is the same story...asleep in arms, bring to bed, wakes and cries, rock, nurse, repeat...

Any ideas on what I should or should not be doing....so tired!

I try to be sure that I put DD down for a nap after she's only been awake for one hour. That seems ridiculous, and she's perfectly smiley and pleasant after only one hour, but she nurses, lays down, and goes right to sleep. Then I put her down after a two-hour interval of being awake. At four months, she still takes three naps per day and is ready for bed at 7:00. When they have good naps, they need more of them!
