I saw this suggestion on another site and wondered if this is something you had tried:

My blanket advice is skip to the top, go to the district coordinators if you feel any resistance to reasonable requests for 504 or IDEA determinations. Their job is compliance, and they tend to err on the side of caution.

I know you don't know about us and our situation and you're trying to be helpful but every time someone tells me we should just get her some PT/OT, I want to scream.  That stuff is not free.  Our insurance (our very expensive, private insurance for which we pay a small fortune) does not cover it.  We are not low income so we don't qualify for any programs.  I'm sure PT and OT are wonderful things but without a spare $800+ a week, we'll never know.  There is literally no way we can come up with that kind of money.

Do you have a Shriner's hos[ital anywhere nearby? They also provide free therapies, although I'm not sure on what basis they qualify people.

We have sent them some paper work and are waiting to hear something.  From what I can read, she doesn't seem to fall into any of their categories but you never know!

Thank you.  :)   The district just refers me back to the school.  I'm really a homeschooling mama at heart, so that's probably the route we'll take (or go back to, as is our case).
