Where did I go wrong: lids all came off during pressure canning

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it seemed close enough (maybe Living off the grid would be better?)

over the last 24 hours I made a nice rich bone broth. I re-boiled it tonight in preparation for canning. I boiled the jars, poured the boiling broth in the jars, put the lids on finger-tight, put them in the canner, went through the canning process, and four out of five lids came off completely. bawling.gif Why??? Has this ever happened to any of you? I've been through a couple seasons of pressure canning with many cycles, and never had this occur! greensad.gif

Beyond that, about half of the contents of each jar came out, but can I pour the remaining contents into freezer containers and keep them?

I estimated and inch per the recipe on the National Food Preservation website. Maybe my eyeballed estimate is wrong, I'll check tonight. Thanks for the reply.

I second double checking headspace and then check to see if there are any cracks in your jars as I had a couple of jars crack on my this year while I was making jam.
