DS milk allergy?

I'm new here! My name is Rebekkah, and I have two sweet boys, Owen (2) and Evan (9 months).  I'm a WAPFer, or at least I'm learning to be.  I'm 2 years into my journey into healthy eating.  Grew up in a hamburger helper, no produce home. lol I posted this in the traditional eating forum too, before I knew this forum existed:

So, my oldest son Owen (2 years, 4 months) has had eczema, allergies, minor asthma (brought on by the allergies), and loose stools for at least a year now.  His Dr put him on zyrtec, which helped with most of those problems really well, until I realized it was making him absolutely nuts! (Talk about parent guilt over giving it to him for so long.)  Well, about a month ago, he started getting an itchy eczema rash in his hair and it quickly spread down his back.  I'm a big raw milk fan, and I've always let him drink as much as he wanted.  I've been very reluctant to try the elimination diet.  But, I was desperate, so I finally cut out milk.  And, lo and behold, the rash went away, his stools are fantastic, and his behavior is much better (you know, for a 2 year old).  I haven't cut out baked goods or the little bit of cheese in his scrambled eggs, but all straight up milk.  Yesterday, he had yogurt and the rash immediately came back.

So, here's my question.  What are my options? I hate for him to not be able to drink milk forever.  I really don't want to take him to an allergist.  I don't trust his pediatrician to give us good nutritional info.  I've read some stuff online about reversing allergies.  Is that possible???? Have you guys had experience with this????

I'm a WAPFer, but I know NO ONE else who does anything like this, and all my friends think I'm nuts.

Don't sweat a milk allergy.  Eliminate (all of it, raw, pasteurized, fermented, cow, goat, butter, casein, whey etc etc).  Milk allergies are commonly outgrown by the age of 5 or so.  My daughter is an exception.  She has a sever dairy allergy--throat closing, vomiting within minutes, really scary stuff--and she has not outgrown it yet at 6.5.  So it is not rare to keep it indefinitely.

Get rid of the dairy.  Revisit this in a year or two.  If you see signs of other sensitivities, get a referral to an allergist.  Don't bend over backwards "curing" his allergy since in this case all it might need is time.

I just reread your post.  If he has allergic asthma, you might want a referral anyway.  They like to keep an eye on this condition because if it gets worse he might need an inhaler.  It can become life-threatening.  Get a food panel (skin test) at this visit.  You can do a lot to relieve environmental allergies, though not as thoroughly as you can with food allergies.
