Somber 8 month old?

Over the past few days, my sweet smiley girl has become kind of serious and not like herself. She startles more easily, reacts more to loud noises, wants to be held all of the time and is laughing less but yelling (but not crying) more. She's sleeping ok and doesn't have a fever but is less interested in eating. She recently cut two teeth. Could this all be from teething or is there something about this developmental stage?

Maybe it's the teeth. My DD has been acting this same sort of dreary way the last couple  of days, and she cut her first two teeth this week. She's just shy of 7 mo. She also started crawling and pushing to stand this week... I feel almost like she's focused or something. She's so serious all of a sudden!

Yes! That's exactly the way Ellie is -- doing a lot of crawling and standing and seems to be giving it all a lot of thought!
