top chef just desserts - anyone watching? - Page 2

I was super glad he got no kudos for it. and he did poorly in the following ep as well! clearly I'm not a fan. I kind of love it when the jerky, full of himself guy gets a face full of humble pie.

how could sally be friends with MARCEL ?????????? I did not enjoy that elimination challenge at all. I would be so pissed to be sent home for that. I get it, it was a funny clever idea for a challenge, but make that a quickfire, not an elimination. Being able to incorporate canned ravioli into your dessert is not something that would happen in real life. I get having challenging ingredients and trying to make them be inovative and think on their feet, but really?? Falafel? Pork and Beans? barf.

what annoyed me about that was the chefs got equally criticized for making desserts that tasted too much like the food and not enough like the food... you can't win! lol

I knew he was a creep!! As soon as I saw the headline "Ex-'Top Chef: Just Desserts' contestant indicted for child porn" I knew exactly who it was...

What did we think about the finale?  I liked this season way better than season 1.  I think the contestants were much more likeable this time around.

I liked this season a lot better too.

I thought the winner of the finale was Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
predictable. I wished it was Sally!

if sally had just done a little more work on her show piece she would have won!!

or, really, any work at all orngtongue.gif

i totally think sally should have won.  they never said that she had to do the majority of the showpiece.  if they were concerned that *she* didn't do it, then why did they give them sous chefs???  she made the most of her team by delegating the most appropriate tasks to the most appropriate people; to me, that shows smart thinking!

ITA. it would have been dumb to use Orlando on something else while she struggled with the show piece. In that case they would have been like, why didn't you use Orlando's talents better?
And I hate it when the obvious choice wins. I thought Chris (was that his name?) had it on lock since like, the first episode. I would have loved to see Sally yank it out from under him.
