I did find it in a round about way cause someone posted a link to the May 2012 DDC, but when I went to the groups list there was like 6.... Is that all the groups there are right now?  

There are 12 now. The link is http://www.mothering.com/community/groups. We've asked our dev team to place a link in the nav bar but it may take awhile for that to come about.

Okay, I guess I volunteer to be in charge of the June 2012 DDC.

The group is already opened. You can ask jenmn if you can join her as a co-leader.

You need two group leaders and you need to decide if you want an open group or a closed one.

I officially request to be a co-leader for our Dec. DDC's social group.

The other DDCs are named in the month, year, DDC format.  "December 2011 DDC" seems straightforward and probably will make us easy to find.  What does everyone else think?

Because we're so close to December, I agree with AveryLamb's suggestion to have a closed group aimed mostly at helping us stay in touch once our babes are born.

Sorry to belabor this topic (if you'll forgive the word choice) but would you mind putting a sticky in the pregnancy forum linking everybody to the social groups?  Unless somebody stumbles upon this thread, it isn't clear to everybody what happened to all of the DDCs.  There's a thread going about that the May 2012 DDC, for example.  Thanks!

I would like to start an open group for the oldest MDC mamas - grandmothering, menopause issues, parenting teen to adult children, and other topics common at this next stage of the mothering journey. Although I have seen some interest in Parenting Teens and even TAO, I don't know how to "advertise" the formation of a new social group, or even if there would be much interest.

Under "Recent Articles" at the bottom of my MDC home page, there's an article by Cynthia called "How to Start a Social Group."

mamarhu I'd be glad to open the group for you. I need a definite name for the group and whether or not you want the group open or closed. I also need to know the name of your coleader.

The April 2012 DDC is considering moving to a social group. We are wondering if we can migrate all our threads there, or if we have to start fresh. What do we need to do to move? I am willing to be a leader, as is zuzusplace. Possibly others will be interested too.
