Having a Dental Crown placed during pregnancy

Anyone who knows anything, advice is welcome! I find conflicting info online. I"m six months pregnant, I badly need two crowns done, am worried on one hand about the local anesthetic and on the other because I've read cavaties during pregnancy can cause preterm labor and other problems. So, which is worse? Plus, it hurts pretty bad. I can't eat. The dentist says its safe, but I trust you guys on here to tell me if there's anything I'm missing.

I had two crowns done during my pregnancy. My dentist said that it would be a lot worse if I waited until after I delivered. A limited amount of local anesthetic will get into your system and reach the baby--it's concentrated at the site where it's given.
