Anyone else with brief maternity leave

My maternity leave is coming to an end and I go back to work on Monday. Feeling a bit sad to be leaving my tiny 7 week old baby and spending the weekend relaxing with my family and getting things ready for going back to work. Anyone else with a short maternity leave? Could use some moral support....

I started a new job when I was about 8 weeks pregnant so I wasn't eligible for maternity leave at all.  They let me take 6 weeks unpaid and that time is up next Wednesday.  I have been crying and fretting about it for the past 2 weeks.  Last night I had an appointment with my midwife and she wrote me a letter for work saying that I can't come back yet due to breastfeeding issues, slow weight gain for the baby, c-section recovery and postpartum depression.  I sent it to them today, we'll see what they say about it.  I really don't want to go back to work at all I just don't want to have to pay back insurance premiums for the time I've been gone. 

But I know exactly how you feel.  6-7 weeks seems so little to be away from our babies doesn't it?  I feel like I'm just starting to get to know my little guy!  But we had lots of issues from the start so it's just starting to work itself out and feel normal.

Are you using daycare or family?

I'm 3 weeks into my 8-week maternity leave. I'm just now realizing how brief it really is. I'm lucky in that I'll have a flex schedule when I return, and my MIL will be taking care of my son Monday through Wednesday. 

Still, it seems much too short.
