TMI question about "down there"

Last pregnancy, I had thrush for months. It was awful and from the moment I found out I was pg this time I have really tried to limit caffeine, bread, and sugars. For the past two weeks my pee has smelled yeasty. Just my pee though, not anything else. I have no symptoms of yeast infection at all, just smell.

Any ideas?

Are you on a good probiotic? That would be my first step.

Yep. I take probiotics everyday and eat tons of yogurt (no sugar of course).

Huh...that is strange. I'd probably ask for a culture to make sure that it isn't an asymptomatic infection.

Not sure, but I had a late term yeast infection while pregnant with my son and then we had the thrush of all thrush for MONTHS after he was born.  I came to find out that yeast infection while pregnant often leads to thrush post-delivery.  Suuuucks.

I had one start at about 6 months pregnant, and tried for almost 2 months to get rid of it. Finally did Monistat on the advice on my midwife. I was afraid of post birth problems, and also how horrible it would be to have skin that irritated and sensitive be so stretched! No way I was dealing with that. So I did the 5 day and it cleared up completely.,

I will ask at my appointment on monday. I was just hoping someone had some insight, so that if something is wrong I know beforehand. Im afraid that this is "sugar in the urine" or "protein in the urine" both of which Ive never had and have no clue if it smells weird.

It could be sugar. That sometimes smells yeasty, but usually it smells sweet. There is a good chance that it is a UTI or yeast infection. Good luck at your appointment!

i think that some people can smell the sugar in the urine, but it's probably unlikely.  plus, i think your chances of that happening decrease with second pregnancies (am i wrong about that?  somebody?)

it could just be you.  my most embarrassing pregnancy moment with dd went a little like this... i kept thinking that i smelled (not my pee) and one day it seemed particularly bad and i dr googled and i RACED to the ob and informed them that i had vaginosis, because of the smell.  and.... the test was negative.  blush.gif  so stuff smells different or else your nose thinks it smells different if it doesn't, sometimes with the pregnancies.
