fertility specialist in St. Louis, MO with holistic health care knowledge

I had two miscarriages in the past year and have been seeing a traditional gynecologist.  I live in St. Louis, MO and I am wondering if anyone knows of a holistic health care practitioner who is knowledgeable about herbs and other natural/life style things that may help with fertility issues.  I have a 27 month old son.  I have been reading a lot both online and books and all of the information seems so contradictory.

I am very sorry for your two losses.  I'm sure it is heart-breaking.

I don't if she is a perfect match, but you might try Dr Christine Salter.  She is very into natural things (she is a family practice doctor, chiropractor and naturopath) .  She also does prenatal appointments so she is up to date on many pregnancy related issues.  Her website is drsalter.com

Have you ever had your progesterone levels tested??  I've had several friends with miscarriages that later found out they had low progesterone.   Progesterone is safe to take during pregnancy.

And I know what you mean about contradictory information!!  After my cesarean, my whole world was left upside down and I realized how much research I had to do for EVERY single health decision I made.  It is exhausting.  There are a lot of good websites and hopefully you can separate the good from the bad.

Keep us posted!  And welcome to mdc.

I used to take my son to see Dr. Salter when she took insurance.  She is super knowledgeable.  I would love to see her, but not sure about her fees.  I need to look into that.  Thanks for your response.  I haven't had my progesterone tested since the last miscarriage, but I am aware that can be a problem.  My doctor advised that I should come in as soon as I think I am pregnant and get it tested.  Again, books and online forums report that women with low progesterone need to take supplements before that point.   I don't know.
