Decluttering Toys

Thread Starter

I do not know how to handle all the gazillion Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony, Legos, American Girl shoes, etc.!  How and what do I do with it all?  I absolutely have a cluttering disorder that is activated when in contact with this stuff and can't manage it.  I am not sure if they would even know it is gone and would just appreciate the house being cleaner & having open space to play, dance, etc.

I don't want to buy it over again, but, that may be a small price to pay for having less stuff to deal with now.

Suggestions?

Sort them into their own plastic bins with lids and put them some place not readily accessed (attic, top shelf in closet).  Then, you can get them out if they ask but they aren't getting strewn about just because they are there.  Or you can rotate toys and surprise them by having one category that they seemed tired of packed away with another one that they haven't seen in a while set out.

I did decide at one point that ds was more of a lego kid than a playmobile kid and I got rid of the few playmobile things he had because I didn't want to have two batches of similar small toys.
