Homeschool groups/co-ops/resources in or near Lebanon, OR?

We are moving to the Lebanon area in November and I'm looking for homeschooling groups/co-ops/resources for our family. Our children are going to be 11, 8, 6, and 4 when we arrive.

I consider us eclectic homeschoolers. We've always homeschooled and still love it :)

Below is some info from an email from a friend who homeschooled her kiddos:

If they are new to Linn, Benton, or Lincoln counties, per the law they will need to notify Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District of their intention to homeschool. The following link to the LBL site has links that will answer some questions they may have. If they are already Oregon residents who have homeschooled, this won't be new to them, but if not, it will be needed to get them started on the right foot. http://lblesd.k12.or.us/homeschool/index.php

To me, the absolute most helpful resource in our area is the CACHE (Corvallis Area Christian Home Educators) Yahoo group. It is packed with information on school year activities as families and different groups organize them and post to the site. I do not know if your friends are Christians, but they are welcome to join the Yahoo group and find out what's going on. This is where many park days, field trips, classes, and other get togethers are announced. From the website description: "Corvallis Area Christian Home Educators (CACHE) is a support and activity community for homeschoolers in the areas surrounding Corvallis, Oregon, including Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Philomath, Sweethome and Tangent.....This group is open to anyone who is seeking a homeschooling community and would genuinely like to participate. We just want to let everyone know up front that we are grounded in a faith in Jesus Christ. We are a cooperative support group, meaning that we encourage members to contribute their skills, talents, and gifts so that all may experience support in their homeschooling adventure. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CACHE1/ "

There's a group that occasionally posts on CACHE that meets once a week at the Corvallis Boys and Girls Club. I know nothing about them, except what they say: It is our hope that Corvallis Community Homeschool Network will be a place for homeschooling families to find and participate in classes, activities, events, field trips, mom activities, free play and fun. Carrying on in the tradition of Homeschool Central, CorvallisCHN is open to all homeschoolers, regardless of religion or homeschooling philosophy. Please join us at our new website www.CorvallisCHN.com for more information, to receive email, and stay in touch with the homeschool community. Our new website has a calendar of upcoming events, a list of subgroups, a discussion board, community resources and more. The CorvallisCHN website is also a place for other local homeschool groups to advertise and share ideas and information. Your participation is welcomed. Please feel free to facilitate that idea for a class or activity your child would enjoy. Come and talk to us. Make it happen.

Several homeschoolers in Lebanon belong to the Clever Clovers 4-H Club lead by Fay and Sherm Sallee. You probably know them from your Outdoor School. They have wonderful sounding project groups. I don't know their number, but the information to contact them can be obtained through the Linn County Extension Office: Robin Galloway 4-H and Youth Development Email Robin Melanie Mintken 4-H and Youth Development

There are also activities at the pool that are geared towards Homeschool youth, check their site for more info.

hope this is all helpful & that your move goes smoothly!
