Okay, I saw the preview for the movie Contagion a while ago and my automatic thought was this was a motive to overhwelm the public with more fear about the bird flu, or whatever other flu will soon arise. More vaccines? Now, of course I can't tell the conclusion of the movie since I haven't seen it yet.  It could possibly be that the deadly virus was lab-created by the government in the end, who knows.  All I know is that I won't be seeing it that's for sure! I don't find a movie like that all that entertaining.

Now, I just logged on and found this article today:

Does anyone else see a connection here? The two seem too similar to me. Between the preview of the movie and the article above, it's hard for me not to see somewhat of a connection. Going out on a limb here, so I'd be interested in other's thoughts.

Personally i doubt there is any sinister connection here. Movies are filmed a year plus before they are relased, so this was probably a topic chosen on the heels of the swine flu dabacle. I won't be seeing it either!

The CDC actually encourages hollywood to write scripts with vaccine propaganda. I had a link but cant find it right now. Its in the cdc website somewhere.

Thank you for posting.   After seeing the preview to that movie, I just had this feeling that we would be seeing all types of reports on outbreaks and articles about threats of the bird flu shortly thereafter.....and... what do you know... I just saw that article in the Huffington Post today posted above. IMO, it IS eerily connected. I guarantee there will be more and more of those reports soon to come too.   I think the movie is certainly to condition our minds for the future.  Although I don't have any interest in seeing the movie, I am curious to see what the outcome is in the end, like was the virus bioengineered? I would be really surprised if that is the conclusion, although it would make it a more interesting movie to me if that is the case.

They used to have one with specific examples. IIRC on example was the measles story where the kid dies, and another was a kid in a poor neighborhood doesnt get vaccinated and kids get pertussis. They had examples like that, but I think they updated their site. Ah I found it!

I remembered wrong about the measles. Maybe I got it confused with that episode of House. lol.
