I just got my first set of prefolds. I know I'm supposed to wash them several times first to get them to quilt up and soften. Does this mean a wash cycle followed by drying, then start again? Or can I wash them 3-4 times in a row and then dry them?
If you have a newborn, or just don't have the time, you can start using after the third cycle and realize they might not absorb as much in the beginning, but will with time.
And if you're starting far enough in advance, you can throw them in with your laundry when you have extra room so you aren't doing anything extra (just use your cloth diapering detergent when you do it).
