2 Different Temps in 5 minutes?

Temped this AM at the regular time and was surprised to see a temp spike 98. (from 97.47 the previous day) so a minute or so later I temped again and it read 97.21.  I cannot think of anything I did differently!  I temp vag., BTW.

I'll attach my chart page: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32af8f

Has anyone else had this happen?  How would you chart it?

Temping twice in a matter of minutes has never helped me.  There were cycles where I would drive myself crazy temping and re-temping, temping with two different thermometers... all b/c I kept thinking I should be getting a particular temp.  It is my advice to only temp once and just know that if it appears to be unusual that one temp does not make a pattern.  You can always disregard it later based on the fact that it clearly does not fall into the rest of your pattern- chalk it up to randomness.  Tomorrow's temp will likely clue you in as to what's going on.

I took a look at your chart and without other temps it's really hard to know what's happening.  Why no temps prior to yesterday?  Your CF indicated that you were gearing up to O around CD 10 or 11 (very early, but possible), but without temps you don't really know!  Since then you've been dry and sticky, which could indicate that you did in fact O or it could indicate that it will be several more days until you gear up to O again.  Did you get some BDing in around CD 9-11?  If you spot more fertile CF in the next few days, definitely keep DTD until you dry up again and/or see that spike.

Jaimee--You are so sweet to reply!  Thanks:)

I usually take a break from temping during AF and this month I waited a little longer to start up again.  Yes, I did feel like I was going to O around days 10 & 11.  I did have some secondary signs (i.e. my fibro. breast issue always flares up near ovulation, etc.) and we did get some BDing in.

Just hoping it will be clear by tomorrow b/c I'm taking EPO (supposed to stop at O) and then start up Progesterone.  Do you think it would hurt if I have O'd to keep taking the EPO?

I really can't say from experience, but it was my impression that EPO doesn't really do anything unless your body is ready anyway and is therefore more receptive to the supplement.  So I don't think there is any harm continuing with that.  Progesterone is a whole different situation, though, as it could affect O and CF if you haven't already O'd, but if you're needing it to sustain your LP then you want to be taking it shortly after O.  That's a tough one.

Just following up---I've been temping the last few days and my CF seems to be drying up.

OPKs have been all clearly (-), today with the test line visible but not (+).

There doesn't seem to be a big spike in temp to indicate O but the range of temps looks possible.  Looks like my pre-O temps are higher this cycle. I think that and the patches of EWCM are throwing me off.

Any suggestions?

Well, I'd say no O.  There is a slight jump in temp, but it goes back down.  It looks to me like your body tried and didn't succeed so it will try again in a few days.  Be on the look out for another patch of fertile CF and then a temp spike.

Just an update: FF has gone back and forth the last few days on an O date of CD20 and CD 23.

I'm hoping a few mamas can look at my chart and give me your opinion.:)

The most secondary fertility signs that I've had (sensitive nipples, backache, bloating & cramping, nausea) were on CD19.  I've had those signs other days of the month, but not all at once on a day except for CD19. The last fertile CM day was CD17 (I don't count CD21 & CD24 b/c it was soooo scant, but still charted it, just in case!) BD CD:14,17,19, & 24

Finally, I just noticed that I am spotting.

The latest update is that I got a BFP over the weekend! Thanks, Jamie. :)

I hadn't seen this thread pop back up, sorry I didn't comment earlier, but now it's been a whole new cycle and a BFP!!!    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!   joy.gif  You're an inspiration to women with short LP's everywhere that the very next cycle could have a fertile length LP and boom you could be pregnant!
