Thanks to all for the congratulations, positive thoughts and prayers. I'm still in the hospital where I'll be at least another day or two.
I'm still in awe of my beautiful, big babe. His name is Gabriel Eric Donald, Eric after my DH and Donald after my FIL. He looks just like my DS Malachi.
Not only was he 11 lb 3 oz, but he was born sunny side up, as well. And the most amazing part is that I didn't tear at all! Labor was 28 hours from the time my water broke. Pushing out my 11 pounder was hard work, though, harder than my near 10 pounder last time, but maybe this was because Gabriel was sunny side up.
But my uterus doesn't like to release placentas, so the placenta had to be manually removed and I bled like crazy in the OR, losing over 2 liters of blood. I've received 4 pints of blood and am hoping I won't need more. My blood pressure has been low, but it seems to be increasing. The good thing about the removal of the placenta this time is that I was given a spinal and able to recover in my room, babe in arms. Last time I had general anesthesia and was separated from my DS for many hours.
Thanks again for the kind thoughts and prayers. Thanks, Jill, for posting this thread. :-)
