Fall IVF Thread: Let's hear it for the BFPs! - Page 42

Silver, oh no!!!  Can they try clomid/injectibles before IVF with IUI to force you to ovulate?  I am not sure where you since there are several London's worldwide, but inside the US we have SART.org that has all the clinic's statistics and is really easy to compare them.  I just looked at the clinics near me, and luckily we have several in my own city to choose from.

Blue, we are on the same schedule!!!  I am up at 4 am quite often too.  Luckily, I have been able to take a nap most days, but then I feel like it makes me get up early the next day and the housework is starting to pile up :)  I hope Abby is starting to feel a little better.  We found there was no way to keep our puppy from not climbing stairs (even with baby gates up!) jumping off furniture, ect.  I did my best for a few days, but then it became pointless...but we got lucky with no injuries.

AFM, second beta this morning.  I am so worried...I know it's normal and I shouldn't, but I just keep thinking worse case.  I am going to die waiting 2 more weeks for an u/s.  I am going crazy not telling anyone yet, but I know both families will freak out when we tell them at Thanksgiving (after we see a heartbeat).  We would tell them if it's a miscarriage, but I want to know either way before we break the news.  I need to make more plans to try to stay busy!!

Blue - wow, that s amazing. Thanks (about the mac). I can't wait for your beta!

Silver - oh no! I am so sorry. I wish that you could catch a break. As for your question, I did no research in choosing a clinic. I am in a very rural state in the u.s. with only one clinic in the state - a 3 hour drive away. I suppose I could have gone to another state, but that would mean flying there and doing some appointments locally anyway. In the U.S. there is a government web page describing each clinics success rates, but of course that doesn't tell you about the qualities of the women they accept. My RE said that some clinics only accept 20 year olds in good health in order to get their success rates up, and will not take a woman in her late 30s with poor egg quality. So I don't know how helpful the stats are.

Belly - when I get pregnant again, I am not telling anybody until  the baby is crowning. Seriously. I had to un-tell a bunch of people last time, and it sucked. I think it is a good thing to wait until after a heartbeat.

Looking for clinics in Dayton today. I think I found one in baltimore (the one that rena, I think it was, posted). I still need to call them to see if they can get my bloodwork back the same day, but I assume they can if they are an RE, right?

rcr -  good luck with your hunt for RE's out of your area.  That link that Belly posted is a good resource I'd say. Kinda cool to go in and look at your clinics stats. Maybe you could find the zip for tha area you are going to be in and put it in there and find one close.  I'd think they wouldn't have  a problem getting your bloodwork back to your RE at all.  I do all my monitoring normally except this cycle out of state of my RE and they just fax it over.  Just be sure to get the number of the clinic so if it doesn't show up the nurse can call them.

Belly - yep, that is kinda what we are doing too.  We have baby gate at the bottom of the steps so she just has run of the kitchen and family rm pretty much so i'm just trying not to let her run around like a spazz.  I really can't keep her off the couches b/c she is used to that and she doesn't seem to be in any pain jumping on or off of them so we will see.  She has been doing it slowly thankfully.  She did jump off the back of one couch today and i thought "oh no" but she didn't even cry which she does if she hurts.  I also put a post-it on the door bell telling people not to ring it b/c that will set her off too.  We will see.  Total challenge and if we make it w/o another surgery it will be a miracle. Oh and i did take her for a little calm walk today but i'm so nervous on the walk that people or other dogs will want to greet her b/c she is clueless that she just had major surgery and wants to be social and I'm like "NOOOOOOOOOOO"

Silver - Sorry to hear about your number and not ovulating. Hmmm?  Did you have that problem before too or no, totally new?

AFM - Well i broke down and POAS this morning and it was a BFN - white as could be, so I'm losing hope, but know it's not totally over since it has happened to me before (POAS day before beta negative and then the next day Beta positive).  So we will see.... I'm trying to see a little light at the end of the tunnel, but it is for sure getting dark. greensad.gif

Blue - yea, I am going to the one that belly posted in Baltimore (I meant belly - not rena). There are some in Dayton, so I don't think it will be a big deal.

Blue - Arrrgh! I wish you could have had a BFP this morning. But, as we always remind people, you got BFNs before your beta. Don't loose hope. I am not loosing hope that this is your cycle.  We keep our new foster in the kitchen babygated when unsupervised, not because of jumping, but he is not quite housetrained. How will you know if he breaks the stitches if they are internal?

rcr - Thanks!  I really thought this would be the cycle, but who knows. Fingers crossed for Friday.  I'm probably going to throw in the towel if this one  doesn't work.

I'm not sure how we would know if she damaged herself internally.  I think there might be budging or something. I'm almost tempted to take her in like after the 3 wks just for the vet to check her to make sure she is okay (if she can check by pressing on her belly or something easy like that).  She wasn't worried about the outside opening up, it was just the internal wall healing i guess that she was most worried about with her jumping on everything.

How many dpo are you blue? waht test did you use? the same day I got a bfp I had a bfn on another brand. I sitll have tons of hope for you for this cycle.

Hi all

Belly - I could prob do iui with clomid but I just feel it's not worth it.  The success rate is low, the cost really adds up when your paying for sperm and the twin risk is high.  With IVF I could only transfer one embroy and I feel it would be better vaule for money/drug side effects.  I menant London England, I don't think I even knew there were other Londons! The hfea website has all the stats but my clinic only opened last year so is too new to be on their website.  I kinda wanna stya with them as I've paid for my inital consultation, they seem nice, r relitivly cheep and r easy to get to.  But r thoes good enoguh reasons when were talking this big bucks/side effects/emotional heartbreak?

rcr - good point about the stats that why it soo hard to tell what to do.

Blue - I praying it's a false reading praying.gif I think I speak for all of us and the stalkers that we will be sooo gutted it this doesn't work for you.  We just really really want this to be your time.

I've never been tested for ovualtion before as we were going for IVF due to dh's MF (what a great load of initals!).  I've been recording a temprature shift every month so I thought it was just a formality and am completly shocked by the reults.

I Triggered on Thurs Oct 27th so 13 DPO.  I used a $ store test, but I got my first BFP w/ our boys on one of those $ store ones 13 dpo, but it was also twins so YES it is early.  I'm having some little cramping so i'm not sure if that is AF on her way or a possible BFP  (hoping/praying for the 2nd).  Our first fresh IVF last Oct/Nov i got a bfp beta 15 dpo, but then we m/c at like 10wks.

Silver - Thanks for your kind words!!  That is crazy that  that your chart wasn't showing it. Hmm?

Blue I think you  "ovulate" 2 days after the trigger which is the day of the retrieval so you are only 11 dpo it's still early.

Yes. Yes!  Oh Blue, I'm still hoping for you.  So thinking of you. Big hugs!

April - I need all of those positive wishes for a BFP!!! LOL  You probably posted it and then looked and it wasn't there and then posted it again and it wasn't there, am I right?  That happened to me the other day and i was so mad b/c i had written a long post.  Now before i hit the submit button I always copy the whole post just in case it gets lost in cyber space.

Carlyle - thanks girl!!!  hug.gif

Silver - nope your computer isn't playing tricks on you!!  I think she just knew i needed lots of luck for Friday!! LOL

Keria - thanks for clarifying that for me. That makes me feel even better.  After i looked at my old charts to count the days past O it made me feel a little better.  hug.gif

OK doctor google is only giving me info that above 5-15 nmol/l progestrone indicates ovulation, not one article has indicated that too high means no ovulation (though some have said that high progesterone may indicate menopause).  I’m wondering if my GP is misinterpreting the figures.  Sorry for the panic everyone and hope to find out more from my consultant tomorrow.

Hi Ladies,

will come back and do personals later but I just wanted to say:

Blue, it's too early! I'm still hopeful so let's see what the next couple of days brings! goodvibes.gif

Silver, I hope that your RE gives you better news! i think all the other ladies gave you a good idea about how to research IVF clinics. Since I'm in NYC there are a lot of clinics but I decided to go out of state because my friend had a great experience at the IVF clinic I eventually went to for my IVF. So, word of mouth is great too, especially because some clinics may have great results but have poor staff that don't make you feel comforted when you need to be!

Ok I will check back later!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

BELLY - Beta number please???????????????????????????????????????????????????????  Fingers crossed for over 400's!!!!!

Silver - wait?? It wasn't even your RE it was just your pcp or general doctor giving you these numbers?  I wouldn't fret until you talk to the RE plus maybe there is a certain time in your cycle it is suppose to be drawn and he might not have even gone by that!!!!! Keep us posted.

Renavoo - thanks!!  Hope things calm down some for you at work and the spotting is just them getting comfy!!!!  Don't over-do!!!
