Hi SKJ, I had a little difficulty at first finding my name on there, because of the grey font color... maybe I need a vibrant orange or something... thanks for being threadkeeper again, by the way!!!!

Ladies, I wanted to let you know that I've tried to make the front page of the thread more readable.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to further improve it.

Ravenstar, best wishes... I understand where you are coming from, and hopefully when you do come back it will be with awesome news!!!

I took most of August off of paying any attention to ttc...but I've been good about charting for the last few days, and caught a temp spike, and then yesterday started spotting...the first of any type of spotting/AF since PP (ds born 5/10).

What's an average first PP AF like?  Before being PG, I had PMS, and my periods were super heavy, and always came on right away...so this asymptomatic brown/pink tinged spotting is bizarre to me.  Could it be implantation spotting?  Or AF?  I had a week from 8/17-26 where my breasts were extremely tender, and I was bloated and crampy, so I think I O'd sometime during that week, though FF doesn't give me crosshairs.

Whatever this spotting is, I am glad for it, because it either means I am pregnant or (finally) eligible to become pregnant!

Thanks for the shiny new thread, SKJ

Carlin: Boo hiss for AF. But a long LP is a very good consolation prize for sure!

Welcome back, nstewart!

Hi Bugglette, I'm glad to hear you got through the m/c ok. My first m/c was at almost 10 weeks and I was told to just wait one cycle. Good luck with your decision hug2.gif

texas: I'm using npc for the first time this cycle too. I started using it at 3dpo. My research also found that it is fine while nursing. There is a woman on another thread who did IVF, was still nursing her toddler and using progesterone suppositories under the direction of an RE.

Raven: Heal well.

Afm: 6DPO today. My chart is still looking so much like last month's chart...almost identical pattern. I have no symptoms yet. Last cycle I started getting cramping and nipple sensitivity on 7DPO so I hope I wake up with both  winky.gif

texasfarmom Sorry to hear about the bad advice at the health food store. I hate to think how many moms she's convinced to wean.

Carmen I hope this is the month!!

afm My chart is making me sad. greensad.gif I'm on cd 30-something & ff says I might be fertile? What? I thought I O'd 10 days ago. Breasts are super tender like they were when I was pregnant. Sigh.

I think I've finally got a positive OPK! a line as dark as the control appeared right away and I have loads of EWCM too (I thought I had a positive one earlier in the week but now that I look at it I don't think the line was as dark as the control and I didn't have a temp rise).

I am SO excited. I really hope this is finally happening! I decided to try soy isoflavones 13 days ago and I cut back on the amount dd was nursing 2. I'm wondering if that is what has made the difference. I so hope my temp rises over the weekend.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for the new thread SKJ!

texasfarmom - How frustrating!!  I just talked to my midwife about using NPC.  She said that it will lower my milk supply but obviously if I'm trying to get pregnant I know that is a side effect I'll be dealing with eventually whether I use NPC or not.  Even though my son is 3 and I'm not at all worried about loosing supply, I still hesitate to use the NPC.  I think mostly because you then have to use it for the whole 1st trimester and it just seems like a huge PITA to me.  But that's just me.  I don't think there is any harm in using it.  Plenty of people use it to get pregnant and hold a pregnancy through the 1st trimester.  If you are going to use it this cycle I think you need to start now.

AFM, I got another nice temp spike today and my CH on FF.

zoe - yay for CH, fc for you your temp stays up and you're reporting a BFP soon

Zoe, Niniel - Yay for Oing!

Em, Carmen and everyone else in the 2ww - Fingers crossed for you mamas. We need a few more BFPs around here!

Texas - Wow, I'm sorry you had to deal with that! Can you go pick up the cream when someone else is on duty, or is she it?

Geigerin - Don't worry about what FF says. When it comes right down to it, it's pretty much just a dumb spreadsheet program, so it gives you the 'possibly fertile' reading any time you enter wet or EWCM, high soft cervix or any other potential sign of fertility, even if it's not logical based on your cycle. Although you don't have much info as far as temps go, I'd say you're right and you've definitely already ovulated.

AFM - Just found out SIL is pregnant. I am going to be happy for her, but right now I'm feeling a little sorry for myself. I already posted an exceptionally whiney rant in the one thread so I won't inflict it on everone here as well. I think I feel worse about feeling jeoulous and bitter than anything else if that makes any sense.

Sorry if I missed anyone, have a wonderful, fertile day!

Internet is down so I will try to do personals and fix the front page when the Internet is back up. I'm loving the flurry of activity!!

Afm temp was up again this am, so I started on npc. I'm following the directions on the happy pms site. Also have acupuncture this afternoon. I'm feeling ambivalent this cycle. The uncertainty I experienced around o really made me crazy, so I'm just happy that is over.

Hi Mamas,

I'm not sure of the protocol to join this thread... someone pointed me here after I posted about BF possibly interfering with my TTC (a big "DUH!" I now realize, lol).  My hubs and I have a DD, just turned 2.  She looooves to nurse, sleeps with us and probably nurses about 4-6x/night.  We have been TTC for 3 months.  The first month I knew I was preggers, just felt it, then got weird spotting that I blamed on implantation, then ended up with a m/c around 5 wks.  July we were traveling and missed the highest fertility day, oops, but then I had a normal period.  This month I also just knew I was preggers, waited until Monday to take a HPT, got a faint but there +, then took another one Wed morning, digital, and it was a 'no'.  Thursday morning started rager cramps and awful bleeding, again about 5 weeks.  :(  It's sad... I mean, I guess no one figures on difficulties, but it's just not something I thought about facing, especially since conceiving DD only took a few months...

My OB sort of sucks; she just threw down that I need to wean, and that bf while pregnant is bad for the developing baby as well.  Hm.  I'm in VA and the laws re: midwives are weird here.  I am going to contact our midwife (who delivered DD at home) next, but I'm pretty sure she can't authorize any kid of prescription for either a prenatal vitamin or progesterone cream.  Do you think that it's imperative to have actual testing done to see if my levels are low?  I also heard from some other LLL moms in the area that they also had 2-3 chemicals, then went on to conceive and carry just fine.  Also, do you think nightweaning alone would make a difference?  Aside from anticipating my DD's 2 year molars, I actually think she would be alright with cutting out much of it at night.

I'm sorry, that's all over the place.  I'm just not sure what to do next...

Good luck to all of you and thanks for having me here.  :)
Sammy

Ravenstar, I hope you heal well soon.

So puzzled about this cycle  shrug.gif  and really wish that I would have temped right after AF instead of waiting.  I've had patches of EWCM and temps that are all above the norm for pre-O but not quite looking post-O.  I suppose it is possible that my temps are just higher due to all of the "good things" I've been doing for my body these days??  This being my 4th PPAF, not sure what to think...

Thank you, everyone!  AF finally came last night.  A big relief.  Once the pain of AF is over, then I can distinguish the different kinds of pain I'm having.  I also got an X-Ray of my pelvis so we'll see how my bones are doing.  Life sure is full of lessons and adventures!

Sammymama - sorry to hear about your losses. You can buy natural progesterone cream online, maybe that would help? or taking vitamin b6 can help to increase your luteal phase. Nightweaning could help. My dd sounds just like yours, she was co-sleeping with us until fairly recently and would nurse throughout the night. we moved her into her own room and I sent dh in to settle her when she woke up in the night, though if she's distressed or unwell I'm flexible and will take her back into the bed and let her night nurse again. Are your periods regular? It could be a luteal phase defect due to high prolactin levels, in which case nightweaning and progesterone cream could be the answer. I'm no expert but maybe someone else can give you some advice.

RavenStar I hope you have the pain figured out quickly and that it's something with a simple resolution.

Sammymama Welcome! I had a similar experience 2 months ago. Early pregnancy symptoms but didn't stick. greensad.gif Have you checked on your local forums for references and resources? In my state (IN) CNMs can prescribe, and I know neither of the CNMs I've seen would recommend weaning....at least not with more understanding of what's going on. I hope this next cycle works out and that you have a short stay.

I'm intentionally leaving anyone out here. Stupid slow-response on my phone. Can't quote, save, or even type w/o huge delays. Sorry for typos!

Soooo....slight temp dip today & some pink spotting post-afternoon-delight. DPO 10 (I think). Could this be implantation?!?! orngbiggrin.gif

Updated to here

Tenzins - I changed you to bright orange smile.gif

EmTheWife - Yay for something happening!!!  My first PPAF was loooong and started out very light - not at all normal for me.  This last cycle (#4) was finally back to normal heaviness/length.  The other 2 were on the short side - one was heavier than normal (thought I might have conceived that cycle) and the other was very light.  I took a look at your chart and I think you O'ed and the spotting could be either your first PPAF or implantation spotting.  Only time will tell.  Fingers crossed!

carmenfingersx.gif goodvibes.gif

Geigerin - sorry about your chart confusion.  FF is nuts to think you might be fertile now.  Fingers crossed that you are having implantation spotting!

niniel - yay!!! so happy you got a +OPK.  Doesn't it feel great!!!

zoe - nice temp spike and CH!  I am hoping this is your cycle!!!!

Carlinhug2.gif

sammymamaWelcome.gif I hope you find answers and support here.  And, I hope you get a sticky baby very soon!

sraplayas - It seems to me that you haven't O'ed yet, but I'm no expert.  I've been having WAY more EWCM postpartum than I ever did before DD.  I feel like my fertility signs are way less clear.  Sorry I can't be more help, but I can commiserate.

AFM - Nothing much to report.  I'm somewhere between 2 and 5 DPO.  My nipples have been on fire while nursing and I'm so thirsty all the time.  Not trying to read into any of this as I have a lot more days of waiting ahead of me.

EmTheWife: I don't think there is an averag first PP AF. orngbiggrin.gif Mine (at 19m pp) was really, really light. I probably wouldn't have even known hadn't I been checking cp. It was also very short, 2 or 3 days.  I've had 2 more since then, the last one being closer to normal. My LP was about 8-9 days so far, but that's only my guess.

AFM: We're going with the flow, not trying and not preventing, but with the frequency of us dtd, I'd say we're preventing. headscratch.gif

EmTheWife--Just wanted to reply to your post b/c your experience sounds alot like mine.   PP spotting and lots of secondary fertility signs for months.  I was so relieved to get PPAF (DS was 2.5) but also hoping I was preggers.  Hope that you are in the latter category!!

Oh my goodness sraplayas!  Months???  I have been having changes in CM (with one day that was actually what could be called fertile quality for sure) and now cramping in the afternoon, I hoped AF was on her way soon but maybe not?!

Carmen358, don't take this the wrong way, but I am sorry to still see you here!  I hope this is the month!  How did transitioning DD to another bed go?  Or did you decide to wait?

Welcome sammymama!

Ok, so I am very serious about charting this time.  I have given myself an "update" on FF in terms of charting and am reading the BFing chapter in TCOYF.  Now, can someone give me a tip on how to build a chart?  I am on CD 610 (lol) and so FF is all weird and the ovasoft software bugs me and is equally unhelpful as I am on CD 610.  Should I just pay attention until AF?  Because if she's a while in returning I'd like to work on catching the first eggy (December-ish or later).  Also, any good suggestions on reading in terms of helping with return of fertility while BFing and on conceiving while BFing?  (I have a bit of baby fever going on these days, am feeling very enthusiastic!)

Hey mamas...  :)  First time here!  Crazy, perhaps, but we are somewhat actively TTC #4 :D  I don't really chart but my cycle is fairly regular and I know when I ovulate - though I did hear one mama say she didn't get her BFP until night-weaning but it hasn't come to that for me yet.  Seriously, this is a new - like last week - decision...  We've been talking about how awesome the kids are and how our 3rd will be growing up alone but we are still under 40 so it was like putting 2 & 2 together...  lol   Anyway - #3 is 20 months old and I've had - as far as I can tell - a regular cycle since he was 5 months old.  Exclusively BF'ing until 8 months but still going strong many times a day and once during the night/early am like 3ish, then waking and nursing again about 6:30.  I am not trying to think too much on WHEN conception will occur and just more focusing on felling good, eating well, taking care of myself, etc. but it is crazy to think how much this decision will be affecting us all...  Ideally, I would like to get a BFP next month, ha.  :D   Good luck to you all and may smiles & good spirits lead the way.
