I'd like to share my story about (mostly) CLW during my pregnancy.
When I found out I was pregnant, a little part of me was crushed because I knew I didnt want to tandem nurse, but I had wanted to nurse DD for longer, and had planned on doing CLW and letting her decide when she was done.
DD was 13.5 months when I concieved, and had really just started walking and being way more independent. We were still nursing 10 times a day when I got my BFP, just 16 weeks ago. About 4 weeks into my pregnancy, she automatically started sleeping through the night (pretty much), cutting about 3 nighttime nursings out. She would wake in the morning, and want to go, go, go and walk around and eat breakfast. At around week 10 of my pregnancy, I noticed that her first nursing wasnt until naptime, around noon each day.
Each day I noticed she would nurse less and less as far as the minutes she spent at the boob. At 10 weeks, she was spending a maximum of about 4 minutes at a time nursing.
At 14 weeks, she was down to about 3 nursings a day. Once at naptime, once around 4 pm, and right before bed. Then, all of the sudden, she started lying down and going to bed without me nursing her. If I tried to nurse her, she would suckle for a minute and say "done!" and turn her head. She just didnt want it. It made me a little sad.
Last week, she didnt want to nurse for her 4 pm nursing, and then the next day she didnt want to nurse for her nap. We went 2 days with no nursing and then she fell down and hit her head and she cried. She said "na, na" and made the sign for milk, but I just said "No, just let mommy hold you." and she didnt ask again. She has asked a couple of times when sitting on my lap and playing at my shirt, but other than that, its been fine. No nursing for the past 6 days. I think its finally over.
Im sad, but also really relieved to have my boobies back. It will be nice for a few months
