I am currently pregnant, this is my first baby.
My parents have just sent me up a huge bag of the diapers that were used on me many years ago. It is mostly flats, and there are some prefolds. I think I'll be using prefolds primarily (though of course I will experiment with the flats).
These diapers were bought in a Biway or Kmart or Woolco or similar type store in 1985. I know that diapers have come a long way in the last 25 years. But most of the improvements have been in the covers department, I believe.
My question is, can I rely on these prefolds as the main part of my supply, or am I likely to find these diapers less absorbent or less quality than modern prefolds and wish I had bought more new? Most prefolds sold today seem to be 4x8x4, these ones are definitely 2 layers on the edges, I can't tell how many in the middle.
Thanks for any advice.
