Woohoo! My GD test was normal!

Totally didn't expect this!  My first baby was 11lb4oz and I felt a lot of dizziness and heart thumping when I had any kind of sugars at the end.  I still get this when I have sugars in the morning, or my sugars will spike and then plummet if I haven't had protein right before, but the test said normal, and the test that measures how your body has been handling sugar in the past couple months also was right on target!!  So exciting!

I think I'm just "sugar sensitive" as a friend of mine called it, but this time around I'm much more aware of how to avoid the spikes and lows.  Hopefully that will grow a smaller baby!

Anyways, so excited and wanted to share the news.

Congratulations, that's fantastic news!  I just passed the GD test this week, too.  On my last pregnancy my numbers were borderline but this time they were right in the middle where they wanted them to be.  It feels good to have one less thing to worry about.  I, too, have been getting the sugar jitters, so I'm right there with ya!  Here's hoping you'll make a smaller baby this time!  thumb.gif

Congrats!

I've been worrying about this test the most from the very beginning.  I've never had high numbers before, never any issues in pregnancy or birth at all, and this is my 8th.  But I developed PCOS since my last baby, and with my "advanced age" of 36, and my last two weighing 9 1/2 and 10 lbs, two doctors have been fearmongering me all pregnancy.

There's a long story to this whole thing, with my care, but long story short, I let the OB do the test in the hopes that she would consent to be my backup since I birth at home (no dice, her office manager said due to their malpractice insurance, I needed to be discharged immediately).  I fretted that whole hour, and wasn't expecting it either, had had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast that morning so I thought sure that was not going to help.

My number was 93.  :o)
