When to stop using froggy legs in RS?

Hi there BTDT mamas, I'm a new mama with a 10 lb, 2.5 week old who doesn't seem to like sitting in my ring sling with froggy legs very much in the tummy-to-tummy hold. I tried pulling his legs out the bottom and putting the around me, but it just seems like he is too young for that. Anyone have any advice or experience on how old/big they should be before doing this so I don't hurt him? Thanks!

Legs can be out from the beginning.  Some would say not to froggy at all...it's a matter of preference and school of thought.  When his legs are out, you should be able to form a little pouch underneath him, and his legs should be spread about 90 degrees (so not spread around you) from each other, and knees should be bent higher than bum.  Here's a visual I really like to help explain it:
