Why do my hands get swollen whenever I exercise?

As long as I can remember, my hands always get swollen when I exercise. It does not even need to be hard exercise, just walking will do it.

I use to think that everyone experiences this but have now learned that it is not true. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing that? I have hypothyroidism (treated), so I am wondering is that is somehow to blame.

Do you have fairly low blood pressure? That could be it. Not worrisome if that's the case. My hands also get that way sometimes (although not every time I exercise) and my arms also get fatigued easily/ache if I do work in which I have to keep them above my head (painting the ceiling, for example).

OP, the same thing happens to me when I exercise.  It is only when my hands are below my heart.  I know many people who this happens to.  When I am out walking and pushing DD in the stroller it never happens, but when I am not pushing the stroller and my hands are at my sides, it always happens.  It is common IME and not something to be concerned about

This has happened to me as long as I can remember. I do have quite low blood pressure: I wonder if that has something to do with it?

I have no idea if it has to do with BP.  mine is always 110 over 60 or so and this has always happened to me
