I haven't done anything to prepare, there is time I suppose. It'll all fall into place when it needs to.
Tarabelle, I totally understand how you feel. While I have a very small bump, it doesn't seem to be growing very quickly, and now that I'm in the second trimester, I barely feel pregnant at all! I've also done absolutely nothing to prepare other than reading some really good books (I highly recommend Ina May's Guide to Childbirth to any pregnant woman!). I haven't bought a thing for the baby yet. I think it's still sinking in that come end of April/early May I will actually be having a baby! I also agree that things will fall into place. I plan to get as much as possible second hand anyway and there is no shortage of that here in Tasmania (high birthrate in Australia at the moment, and especially in Tassie).
I also haven't had any ultrasounds so there's also a feeling of uncertainty that there actually is a baby growing in there. I was able to locate my fundus the other day (I think), either that or there's a random firm ball in my tummy that wasn't there before.
Loving everyone's bump pics! When mine gets a bit bigger, I'll post another one.
Vivica- I agree, great picture!
Thursday- nice bump too! It is fun to see what people actually look like in their surroundings. I always cut my head off bc I only seem to take belly shots when I have just rolled out of bed and haven't had a shower in a couple of days lol.
Rosie- I think I went back and found your picture, last one 15 weeks? It is cute, definitely can see the baby growing!
Well, looks like I am showing now. A friend at church patted my stomach and exclaimed "oh you are showing already!" Baby went through a growth spurt just this past week. I feel poochier but can still wear my normal pants which is very different from when I was pg with DS. Starting to look for some looser shirts.... will post another pic when I get to 17 weeks this Tuesday!
What great pics!
And I love the shirt, Thomatuttle--if it's new, do you mind me asking where you got it? I'm having a heck of a time finding clothes I like and what I saved from last time seems WAY too short.
I gotta get on the ball and take a pic (not really showing yet though I can tell there's been a little change--but if I don't suck in my normal tummy I look WAY more pregnant--maybe I should just go for it!)
Yay for bellies! I'm jealous of those of you who look pg right now. I sort of had a baby belly around 14-15 weeks, but now its just chub again. My mom rubbed my belly about three weeks ago and I had to restrain myself from smacking her. "That's not baby, mom." "I know, honey."
ETA: Feeling better--more pg and less chubby this morning, so I took a photo. This is 17.5 weeks. Sorry its so big, I don't know how to shrink them.
rasa-i got this shirt when i was pregnant with DD back in 2009. i didn't wear it much then because i didn't need long sleeves during the summer. i think my mom got it for me from pea in the pod. i ordered some maternity shirts from gap this time around, and i am loving them because they all seem so long! that might be a good place to check out. i really don't understand why they make maternity shirts so short. we need more coverage, not less!
This does not show my bump but I wanted to show off the shirt my husband got me. We are big nerds in case you couldn't figure that out! The picture is a little blurry but it says
"LOADING... Please wait"
Thomatuttle- I agree about maternity shirts being too short along with the pants. At least with this pregnancy you can get longs. When I was pregnant with DD 12 years ago I could not find pants long enough anywhere! I really like the shirts at Target.
Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
So a week after posting last week about no bump, and here it is! I took this picture this evening after eating so it's definitely a bit bigger than my morning bump, but I love it! At first i thought I was getting a little fat around the middle because I've been eating more than usual, but it turns out I still haven't gained weight since the beginning of my pregnancy! Here it is at 17 weeks!
any gender guesses?
Awww, adorable. Bump and soon-to-be big sister smoochies both.
I started peeking out a little bit this week. My doctor said she thinks she can see a little bit of pooch but maybe in another week it will look bump-ish enough to share. I ordered some maternity jeans so I'll have something to wear when I eventually get there, even though mine are still fitting OK now.
