Pail liner PUL separated - Did I wash it wrong?

I bought a pail liner which I hang on a door hook, from its elastic.  After less than two moths, the PUL separated, and shortly after that the PUL tore and was no longer waterproof.  I'm wondering if I did something wrong with washing it.  I've been washing it inside out (ie the shiny surface facing out) on hot, and then line drying inside out, using Charlie's soap powder and a little Sun oxygen cleaner.  I emailed the manufacturer and they're sending me a new one, but I don't want this to happen again.  Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

The only thing I do differently is to wash mine right side out (but sometimes it turns inside out int he wash) on warm (not hot). I've never had any issues - maybe it was defective?

It sounds like a defective bag. I wash mine on hot and dry in the dryer, and they have held up for years. I hope the new one works better for you!

I also wash on hot and dry on the delicate cycle - so far so good after 6 months (hope I didn't just jinx it!)

I toss mine in with the diaper wash - I just tip the diapers into the washing machine and shove the liner in after it. I have two, and they get washed with the load, so at least once a week for the past, oh , 5 years. No problems at all with them, so I'd say you have a dud liner - sorry :(

That is exactly what I do. I would say it is just a fluke.

I wonder if the sun was just too much for the plastic? I might dry right side round.
