When to Repot Trees

Hello,

I am growing Moringa trees.  They are around 6' tall and are only 3 months old!  They are sitting in 10" pots.  I would like them to winter over in the house because they are so young.  They aren't suppose to grow outdoors in Zone 7 but I still wanna try next year.  My Mermaid Roses weren't suppose to grow in my zone and they are thriving like weeds.  They are wonderful trees.  And so much fun to grow.  The leaves and pods are very yummy and looking forward to harvesting them when they are bigger.

Look underneath the pots. Can you see any roots trying to poke out? If not, they will probably be fine for a while longer in their current pots. Generally, a good guideline is that a tree needs as big a pot as it has a crown, since that's how big the root system is. Or at least, so I've been told.

Good luck with your little trees. :)

No roots peeking yet.  And there branches only extend outwards a littile more than the pot.  I'll get the bigger pots so I have them when they do outgrow their current home.  Thanx!
