If you have a toddler in a Britax, do you have the Roundabout or Marathon? (x-p Family Safety)

These are both on sale and we are buying one tomorrow...help me choose!

Which do you have, which do you like, and why?

Also, our toddler is 17 months old and already almost 30 pounds, if that makes any difference.  He's also fairly tall (75%, but I've forgotten how many inches).

BIG thank you...I get very freaked out making decisions to buy things that a) are expensive, and b) I'll have to use for a long time.

Have you checked out the Britax site? they have a compare and fit my child feature which is what we used when we picked ours out. But we ended up with an Advocate. DD is almost 21 months and is 35ish lbs and 34inches. She's apparently off the charts and has almost always been so we ended up buying this car seat when she was about 10 months or so, when she totally outgrew her infant one. We kept it rear facing for a bit so that was helpful.

Good luck! I know people with both who love them. Britax is a good quality seat.

I own 3 marathons, my mother owns 1 roundabout. I am extremely happy with my marathons, the roundabout was fine too, but if I remember right it's just a tad bit smaller (It's been a long time since we've used it). If you have the room in your vehicle I'd go with marathon. In the end I think they are both good seats tho.

We have a roundabout because my car (a 1999 civic) is too small for a marathon to fit rear facing. The only downside for us is that both kids outgrew rearfacing by height long before weight and earlier than they would have if we had marathons (around 18 months for both kids). DD also outgrew the roundabout forward facing by height, but we moved her into a nautilus, so she's still harnessed and we didn't lose anything safety-wise.

We have a Britax Marathon and really like it.  However, my toddler, at 2.5 is the size of a 3.5 year old height wise and is well over 30 pounds.  My other DS is 4 months and over 17 lbs!!!!  When we get the baby's carseat, as much as we love the Britax we're going to go with one of the Sunshine Kids seats as they have latch up to 80 lbs and rear facing until much larger.  You can also fit 3 across in a small car.  When the DS1 grows out of the britax we will get the same thing for him as you can stay in it until 80 pounds in a 5 point harness.  The price is equivalent I believe...may $50 more...

Hope this helps!

We have an Advocate, which I love.  It's a little bit large, but that's why we got a mini-van, right? winky.gif
