NJ - Question about vaccines administered at school

We do not vaccinate as we are religiously opposed.  My 3-year-old son is starting his first year in pre-K tomorrow at a private school.  One of the concerns at the top of my mind has been whether or not the school actually administers vaccines there.  A big fear of mine is that my son will be accidentally vaccinated, as I have heard many stories of this happening on MDC and other sites where parents' children were exempt from vaccines but were vaccinated by mistake at school.  I asked the secretary at the school when we registered my DS about if they vaccinate there and she wasn't really sure.  I'll have to call and speak to the nurse about it.

However, in the meantime, I was hoping to hear from some in NJ.  Is it common for schools to vaccinate here?  And what do they vaccinate for, the flu with FluMist?

If your child's school does vaccinate and you don't vaccinate, how do you ensure they don't get vaccinated? I can see keeping my child home on the vaccine days.

When the school was offering the swin flu shot I just keep my daughter home on the days that they were vaccinating just to be safe.

How did they notify you that they were going to be giving the flu shot, and was that the only shot they ever offered thus far througout the year? Also, was it only offered once throughout the year?

So far I have never heard of our schools (camden county) offering vaccines through the school.

When they offered the swin flu shot they sent out a memo to let you know when this was going to be offered. We had to send in a reply stating wether or not we wanted our child to receive the shot. This was the only time the school offered a vaccination in school that I am aware of. But like I said any days that the shot was offered I just kept her home just to be safe. They always gave us a reminder memo when the days were comming close. Hope this helped. Other schools maybe different just ask if they ever offer vaccinations and will you be notifed.
