HELP! Making Medium Salsa Mild or at least milder

Thread Starter

I made homemade salsa with the last of my tomatoes yesterday.  I did not realize until too late that the Mrs. Wadges mix was for medium salsa not regular.  :(  It burns my mouth.  My kids will not touch it.  Is there anything I can do to tone it down?  Or am I buying tons of tomatoes and making a double mix of regular to mix in with it (2 mild batches + 1 medium batch)

The only way I know to make it milder would be to add tomatoes. You may not need as many as double, but it would work.

sugar can offset heat a little.  but then you're adding sugar to something otherwise healthy.  if it's not a bad choice for your fam, you can test a bit and see how well it would work on the bigger scale.

or you could keep that batch for using in other recipes, and just add it a little to things that could stand some spice, and then it's diluted a lot and useful.

or take it to a party.  or send it to me!  eat.gif
