Live vaccines & pregnancy (x-posted)

Is there a significant risk in giving a family member of a pregnant woman a live vaccine? Specifically the MMR? I know pregnant women should not have it themselves, but wonder if it's possible for it to shed from another family member?

Theres always a risk with everything..they give the MMR & TDaP in the hosp to the new mother, and sh'es bringing home a new new baby who has no immunity,  and recently i have encountered women who were give the vaxes while prego...plus you dont know when you go out in public who was recently vaxed with mmr either, so trying to safeguard yourself there is moot as well.  MMR rotavirus and chicken pox vaxes all shed. Some have a window of 3 weeks for shedding. Most healthy (adults)people will not pick up the disease  via shedding unless there is an immunodeficiency problem, or they are on radiation or chemo..

I know with the whole swine flu thing, they told me(I was pregnant during the whole "crisis") not to be around anyone who had been given the nasal spray vaccine, because it was a live but weakened virus.  Before getting a vaccine for anyone, I would first research it on nvic.org

I unfortunatly got the swine flu shot, at the time I was not informed about how dangerous vaccines are!
