Effective natural remedy for thrush for 1 week old? :( (Except GV)

Hi everyone! My 1 week old has just started to develope thrush. I quickly developed burning, needle like pains in my breasts and small red dots..also have sore, sore nipples :(..I also noticed he has white patches on his tongue and zit like rash on his bum...

Is there a NATURAL remedy that works good? I really don't want to do GV or medications as I heard it causes oral cancer and ulcers in babies as well as it's alcohol content...

Breastfeeding has been such a challenge for me and I don't want to give up :( Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Jay Gordon's protocol worked well for us. http://drjaygordon.com/breastfeeding/thrush.html.  In addition to the GSE and probiotics I also reduced my consumption of sugars/carbs, worked in natural antifungals like olive oil and coconut oil where I could, and washed laundry and my hands with the hottest water possible (toward the end of the outbreak I started adding stock pots of boiling water to the washing machine). Digestive enzymes, taken hours apart from your probiotics, can be helpful, too. I like Enzymedica's Digest Gold.

I've also heard great things about GSE.  You can use it topically (10ish drops in 1 ounce of distilled water (not tap water!)) and/or orally (250mg 3x/day).  I would recommend applying every 1.5-2 hours, since yeast grows back about every 90 minutes.  Back off the concentration and use coconut oil if it gets irritating or drying.  I've been using it for weeks without success, but I think I've finally figured out that I've kicked my thrush but have a residual bacterial infection.

You can also do a vinegar solution, use a swab on you and in LO's mouth.  Just don't double-dip!  

Be really careful about what you touch - use a different towel every day, new sheets every day, change breast pads after each feed, expose nipples to air as much as possible (yeast likes the dark) - it's a huge pain, but not as big a pain as thrush!

Good luck, thrush is rough but you'll get through it!  Don't give up!
