help help sore throat fever chills cough what can u take?

my friend is nursing her daughter 5 months old exclusively. she said she thinks she is getting sick. she has fever chills headache sorethroat n cough. what can she take? she also has thrush and baby too. she and baby are on nystin. but she is getting gentian violet today and acidephlus for herself. and will use gv on both.  can anyone recommend what she can do to help her symptoms? and she said she does not have any rock solid breasts just thrush. she has deysm at home. she said coughing is really bad was up all nite.
