GV worked the first day I used it. then I found out it was a carcinogen. someone recommended grapefruit seed extract (10 drops of concentrate to 1 oz of distiller water), apply to baby's mouth before nursing and to mom's nipples after. worked like a charm!

We're dealing with a stubborn yeast rash here. I wonder if GSE applied directly to it might help? Has anyone tried this? I'm hesitant to try it in case it really stings or hurts, that could get ugly!

5 to 20 drops per ounce of distilled water is suitable for skin use.  About 12 drops/ounce applied at every diaper change worked wonders for us. If the skin gets dry, pure vitamin E oil, olive oil, and coconut oil are thrush-safe.  Some people will mix a little tea tree oil into the moisturizing oil before applying it.  You and your friend may already know this, but many pre-made diaper wipes can feed the yeast--she may want to stick with water or soap and water (if using cloth wipes, wash as hot/close to boiling as possible) until the thrush has been gone for several days.
