I am newly pregnant (just over 4 weeks) and starting to research my options. The main issue I have is that I'm due mid-May, but we will most likely be moving across the country sometime in February. So I need some kind of prenatal care here, but I'm not keen on bonding with a homebirth midwife (and paying out of pocket for it) when I definitely won't be delivering here. When we move (don't know exactly when or exactly where yet, and won't until just before we go) I plan to transfer care to a hb mw. So for now, I'm looking for someone in-network with Tricare who will be laid-back, hands-off, ok with me declining many things (I'm young, very healthy, very low risk, had a textbook normal pregnancy with my first), and ok with me bringing my toddler (21 months) to appointments. I'd like a shorter drive but will go up to 45 minutes away if necessary. I'm in Groton, CT.

Any recommendations? Either hospital-based CNM or OB is fine as long as they fit the description above. I'm going to double check about the CNM's at Birth and Beyond since I hear they accept Tricare, but from what I understand they are not actually in-network so it sounds like I'd end up paying a lot more out of pocket? I'm not sure what the story is about that.

Thanks in advance!
