Thanks everyone for the encouragement and happy thoughts my way :)

Things are still going fine - nothing new to report! Baby is still kicking and I'm still losing waters every few hours. No contractions, though.

Feeling tired though because the nurses have to wake me every two hours all night to do vitals, and then it takes me time to get back to sleep... so sleep is in short stints.

Just taking it day by day... we're working on a middle name thumb.gif

Wow Luna, I was surprised to see that when I got on!  I had my son at 34 weeks and he only spent a few days in the hospital- breastfeeding was a struggle (premature babies usually have latch/suckle problems) but he is a GIANT healthy boy now.  Have they given you any steroid injections to help mature lungs?

Thanks for sharing your experience, Ash smile.gif

Yep, I got a steroid shot Friday night and last night. I'm not sure if I will be getting more, but likely, I'm sure.

I really hope breastfeeding goes okay... I will be doing everything I can to make sure he's not given formula and that I am able to breastfeed exclusively.

I am getting a little worried about the 'standard protocols' the hospital will be pushing on us that we were wanting to avoid by doing a home birth. I did tell them I don't want to have an epidural and that we are not circumcising him, so at least they know those things. DH and I want to write out the other things that are important to us, though, so that we have it available during labor and can show that we have had those preferences prior.

Establishing a breastfeeding relationship with a premie is hard.  Hopefully your little guy will stay in the full 37 at least, but prepare yourself that it might not be what you always dreamed of.

My son was tube fed, then we did a combo of breastfeeding and bottle feeding.  It took 4 months to be able to exclusively breastfeed him- I pumped constantly.  took herbs.  ALL worth it!

Im really sorry your having to be on hospital bedrest...its so boring and uncomfortable!

Ash, what herbs did you take that you felt helped you? I'll take note of them thumb.gif

Fenugreek.  Tons of Fenugreek.  I smelled like maple for months!

I hadn't read this thread yet, so I only just saw that Luna's water broke. Hope everything is smooth sailing and that you can keep the baby in for a little while longer.

I got on my state health insurance AND I got an open card which means they will pay for my homebirth, no premiums, no deductible.  I'm SO excited!  We were trying to figure out how to come up with cash to pay my midwives, and were really afraid if I needed to go to the hospital or anything, so this is a HUGE HUGE blessing.  Oooooh, and now I can get some blood work done to make sure my anemia is doing better.

Luna, I didn't have a preemie, but I exclusively pumped for three months before my first started nursing.  It can be hard, but it's SO worth it.  Also oatmeal can increase supply, and domperidone can increase supply too, although I never tried it.

Dom is not legal in the US yet, but Dr. Hale is working on the FDA to get it approved.  Hopefully soon!  Otherwise you have to buy it from another country like Canada or New Zealand.

Eugh...I start IV Iron infusion on Thursday and Im dreading it :(  After 6 months of vomiting up everything I ate and not being able to take any vitamins, my body is so anemic that the doctor considers it dangerous for me to deliver at this point.

They take 3 HOURS!  But hopefully I will feel better afterwards.

Oh Luna I pray the baby stays in there a long time yet!

I have had an unusual amount of BH contractions tonight (as in 1-2 every ten minutes). Looked out the window and yep- full moon! Anyone else?

So on Saturday, I got stung like six times on the boob by a flying ant and it won't stop itching. Should I be worried about the stings?

If the only issue is itching, it's probably fine.  You could try an anti-histamine, but I doubt there's much more that you can do.  Some bug bites itch like crazy!

I have a friend who had to have an IV infusion as well.  She just didn't absorb iron on her own (she wasn't prego).  She has sky high iron numbers now and she says she feels amazing!  Good luck!

Hmm. Maybe that's part of why I'm having such a rough night -- full moon. greensad.gif My DH had to work tonight and wasn't able to come to our childbirth ed class with me, so I went alone and it just happened to be one of the most important ones to go to as a couple... the class on pain management techniques and how husbands can support their laboring wives and provide them comfort in different ways. I know I won't remember any of it when I'm actually laboring, let alone be able to teach it to him ahead of time - and even though he says he'll read the booklet, I highly doubt I'll ever see that happen... I'm just so dang emotional tonight, I want to scream! I can't handle this sleep deprivation. Having interrupted sleep but still getting some hours of quality sleep here and there is one thing and more tolerable, but I'm not getting any quality sleep anymore except maybe the first two hours. Seeing my chiropractor didn't help with my sleep. I'm just too uncomfortable in this stage of pregnancy and toss and turn all night. My mind is racing all the time. Here I am now, got up at 2:30am and am trying not to cry... although maybe if I do, it'll at least send me back to sleep...

Oh great, just what I need. My cat just dove across the room to pounce on a bug on the floor. I'm going to SCREAM if it's another centipede. Can I get a break?! COME ON! eyesroll.gif

Oh Joanie.hug2.gif I'm so sorry! That sucks really bad. I had a meltdown yesterday. I had to make 3 trips to the store pharmacy over some stupid glitch on DH's medication and he needed it and then shell out $3 extra dollars, which I had to COUNT CHANGE FOR!(right in front of the clerk, it was embarrassing!) I wouldn't have had to do that if I hadn't bought garlic bread for the spaghetti I was going to make, but the store wouldn't let me take it back unless it was for a food item. THEN, I get home and the kids are super hungry, so I hurry with the spaghetti. I'm grabbing plates out of the cupboard when a glass slips out of there and breaks all over the counter and floor, making it impossible to move until DH sweeps it up at which I'm yelling at him to help me NOW! While he's doing that, and I'm gingerly stepping out of the way, my son, Michael is yelling "Daddy! Casey has your pop!" (which is beer, but we call it adult soda) When I run to grab it, she tosses it to the floor and it proceeds to spill everywhere. Yeah, I felt like ripping my hair out. And it would be correct to say I was running on little sleep. I would have loved a nap, but I dozed in and out on the couch while the kids played in the livingroom. After the beer got spilled everywhere, I just sat on the floor and started crying "when will it stop? Why is everything messed up right now?" Yeah, pitiful, I know. lol Just wanted to let you know that I'm there too, both in spirit and experience-wise.

I'm sorry Joanie and Becky!  That's so frustrating!  I've had a couple days like that recently as well.  I almost cried last night in the middle of dinner b/c ds wouldn't stop throwing his food and I was just losing it.  Not to mention the fact that I'm trying to move onto "phase 2" of our potty training where I rely on him to tell me he needs to go when we're home and make short trips out of the house.  He's doing really well, but when my patience is already super thin, any accidents that could have been easily prevented are so frustrating!!  Yesterday and today he started to poop in his underwear and then came and told me, finishing the rest on the potty.  I know it's baby steps, but that means I have to drop everything and clean out dirty underwear and a potty full of poop, and wipe his butt.  You know, while I'm burning something on the stove b/c dh is out on a run.  irked.gif
