Biting question...and while I'm at it - sleep question!

Hi! Raffi is 9 months and bites.  He has a few times while nursing, that's not the biggest concern, I know what to do for that one! But he's inclined to bite others, and thinks it's the funniest, and will keep at it after remove him, remove him, remove him - like when he was at his sister's knee while I read her a story.  I was thinking about trying to have a toy right and ready to give him to bite on instead.  He has 8 teeth, thinking some more are on their way probably....any tips?

Also, he seems to be up around 5 or 6 times at night.  Usually he nurses and goes back to sleep, it might be double the 'ups' for me since I usually try to put him back in his crib in our room so I can sprawl out, which is how I sleep best.  Sometimes he stays though.  Anyhoo - growth spurt? He's with me much during the day, so it's not a craving for mommy time and nursing as sometimes happens when a mom works during the day and is away from the wee one.   It's not really bothering me too much, I'm a little tired, but I'm wondering if there are any other reasons that may explain the frequent night waking.

My little guy sometimes bites when he means to be kissing. I tell him, "No teeth!" and remove him. Then I say, "Now I'll kiss you!" and I kiss him, and then say "No teeth!" We also practice kissing a little doll. He seems to be getting it.

Sometimes he just bites my finger when he's teething, and that's a little different. Then, I give him a chew toy and he will bite that.
