What is a rainbow baby? J/W and Welcome! Yes MDC is full of newbies a lot of "elders" have left when things changed...
How about a ROLL CALL? - Page 7
I didn't know either and had just googled it. It's a baby conceived after a loss. Like a beautiful rainbow after a storm. My first is a rainbow baby then after many losses.
Jen, 34, #5. Just had an ultrasound today and found out that my edd is a day after my bday 5/25! So incredibly sweet. This baby is unplanned (my youngest recently turned 3), but I'm already falling in love with this little one. My four boys are stoked. :) All my children were born at home with a midwife and the last 3 were waterbirths. Not sure about this babe. I'm actually considering a hossy birth. Congrats everyone!

Hi everyone! This is the first time I've been able to bring myself to join a DDC. I am 11 weeks pregnant and due May 2, 2012. The due date for my LMP is actually April 30th, but my OB adjusted this after my last ultrasound. I was following the April 2012 DDC for awhile, but everyone seems so much farther along than me, so I decided to join this one.
My name is Sandy and I'm 40 (will be 41 when this one is born). This is my second baby, my son is 2 1/2, and I'm pregnant again after two previous losses. I feel very nervous, scared, and tentative, but have just begun to feel hopeful, so I'm allowing myself to post here.
Just joining this group- finally I found you! I was looking under the I'm pregnant forum tab...
I'm 33, this is my 4th pregnancy but so far we only have one beautiful baby. We are also hoping to see a miraculous little rainbow sometime around May 31st. DD came 3 weeks early, so I am pretty confident joining this group.
Oh, and I am feeling like crap (sorry), so I am hoping that's a good sign. Balloon belly, constant nausea and the hardest time to figure out what I could tolerate to eat.
Greetings to everyone!!!!
Hi everyone. So happy to find this DDC :)
I'm Sarah, 33 years old and pregnant with my second babe, due May 28.
My first is 2.5 and keeps us pretty busy, which feels pretty amplified these days with the exhaustion and nausea. I seem to remember feeling so relaxed when I was pregnant with her and I'm pretty sure that the only real difference is that I've got less time this go-round. Anyway, we're very excited and have always wanted a large family. Just gotta let the chaos ensue (and go to bed at 8pm).
Hi mamas! I've been holding off joining this group because I couldn't quite figure out my progression until today. I'm Marina, 35 (will be 36 when the new bean arrives), and this will be our second child. If our EDD holds true (May 28ish), my first son will be a ripe old 2 years and 5 days. We weren't quite trying, but we weren't preventing. Ever since I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 20, I've been told how hard it probably would be for me to conceive. With that in mind, we figured that we'd have charting and planning and lots of trying ahead of us, but I guess mother nature didn't agree with that assessment because both times it took only 2 cycles of not preventing for it to happen. Biology works in mysterious ways, I guess.
After counting back on the calendar, my midwife was certain I'd be 10 weeks today. She couldn't get a hb to register on the sonogram yesterday though, and since she thought I was 10 weeks, she schedule an ultrasound for me today. It turns out I was right, I'm 8 weeks and change along instead. Everything seems fine, and my first pregnancy was pretty by-the-books, but I'm still feeling a little nervous and will probably continue to feel this way for another few weeks. I've had so many friends with losses this past year that I feel like I'm holding my breath a little.
I'm feeling pretty good, my morning sickness wrapped up by 6 weeks, just feeling the normal tiredness of an old lady who spends her day chasing around a very active toddler who thinks it's his duty to touch everything in our apartment at least twice each day. Wishing everyone here a sticky and easy pregnancy!
Hi May Ladies,
I just joined the group, so I thought I'd say hello. I'm Marisa, 38, and this is my 3rd pregnancy/4th baby....funny math because my first pregnancy was twins They are now 9 and my younger daughter is 7. So it's been a while since I've been pregnant. I've been saying I'm due "early May" but I think technically May 8th is about right. I'm looking forward to the journey....and wondering whether my strong intuition that this is a boy baby is accurate. Can't wait to find out!
I second the smell issue, AJDB. I got home from work tonight, and DH had just emptied the compost & had the container we use for food scraps we're about to compost soaking in the sink. Normally, that wouldn't bother me; tonight, I had to escape to the bedroom while DH burned sage in the living room & kitchen. I'm getting a little tired of my extra-olfactory superpowers!
I'm 28 (will be 29 when baby is born) and this is my 3rd pregnancy and (hopefully!) 3rd baby. My EDD by LMP is May 17 but by ovulation it's May 22. Either way, I don't expect to give birth before Labor Day ;)
Feeling fine! Aside from sleeping non-stop and often feeling like I just might vomit (but never actually doing it).
I am 20 (will be 21 the same month baby is due) This is baby number 1 and EDD is May 31st!!! :)
Were SOOOO excited. DH and I have been trying for 5 months... needless to say, I was getting a bit impatient!
These last few days have been awful, nausea wise. I've thrown up 3 times in like the past 3 days. And I feel like I can't eat anything!!! Everything sounds gross.
I'm definitely feeling awful... but I'm just so excited/happy that I really don't mind too much :)
Also, it seems like anytime I take my prenatal (they are huge) I throw up right afterwards.. like it makes me gag having to swallow it. Any suggestions? I feel like I CAN'T take them.. or I will throw up.
Welcome to all the newbies! Glad to see more members here. preggo1, I can only take the Walmart Nature's Sunshine (I think that's the brand) prenatals right now. I got the ones at Costco that had DHA in them but they are way bigger and have an odor that I cannot handle right now. The Walmart ones are smaller and no odor to me. They don't have the DHA but have everything else and I figure that will do for now.
