Called the doctor for my biopsy results but the nurse couldn't give them to me, is this normal...

I had a mole biopsied on August 30th, the doctor told me he could tell by looking at it that it was benign but they did a punch biopsy anyway. I called today and the nurse said they are in but she can't give them to me until he signs off on them and that she will call me back. So of course I am freaking out, is this normal or does this mean something is wrong?

That is normal - the nurse doesn't want to hold any liability for giving test results over the phone.  She will even tell you this when everything is perfectly fine.
