Official Introduction

Hi Everyone!  I've popped in a posted in a few threads, but thought I should introduce myself.  I'm Jennifer, single mom to an amazing little girl through adoption (Hong Kong, she is "Chromosomally Enhanced", aka has Down Syndrome).  I've felt like it was time to start the process again for quite a while, but finally decided on (hopefully) local foster-to-adopt.  I finished the classes and home study process and was told today that they were trying to enter me into the state database, but they are having a "glitch" with the computer right now.  (Everything just takes some time!)  However, they said I should get placement calls soon.  I've requested medically fragile or small sibling groups, under the age of 7.

I've just been trying to prepare, but am very excited.  My daughter is just beside herself wanting siblings.  I've tried to prepare her, and talked about what we're doing; but every time the doorbell rings she runs yelling "BABIES, BABIES"!  (She's a tad bit excited like her mama joy.gif!)

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Jenn

Thanks everyone! I got a call yesterday and I'm supposed to go for training at the NICU on Monday and bring home a little premie on Tuesday morning.  I've never had a newborn, so this will be an adventure! energy.gif
